Got a call from someone claiming to be TM Legal, saying I owed money for my water and phone bills. Turned out it was a total scam just to trick you into signing up to a payment plan. These firms buy debts, but they don't actually have any legal claim since they're not the original company. They can't make you pay without your consent.

I usually ignore these sorts of calls, but sometimes when I do pick up, the person sounds pretty legit at first. Then before you know it, they start putting the pressure on and trying to force you into saying yes.

I got a call from this number but no voicemail was left. When I returned the call, I ended it quickly after figuring out what it was. Immediately after, I got a text saying something like "Hi, we see you tried ringing us..." or similar. It’s from TM Legal, who seem to be using a new number now. These lot are just scammers trying to trick you into paying for water, energy, or old phone bills. Best to just ignore and not deal with them at all.
