Received a rather alarming voicemail from a certain Mrs Quire on 01253 502008, requesting an immediate callback. I’ve tried reaching out multiple times, only to be met with a message from an HMRC automated system that insists on collecting my personal details. It certainly feels dodgy to me-if HMRC needed to contact you, they'd do so directly without the fuss. I won’t be heeding this sudden plea and recommend others avoid calling this number as well. Best to stay cautious!

We received a letter from a number that looked rather familiar, prompting us to phone up and confirm that our details were accurate. When we dialled the number, we were left hanging for what felt like an eternity-about half an hour-only to be greeted by a voicemail asking us to leave a message. We then tried the usual contact number for tax credits, and the representatives there assured us that everything was in order. However, I can't help but feel something's off; the letter itself was poorly worded and printed on a rather shoddy piece of paper!

Indeed, everything seems perfectly legitimate. We reached out to the tax credit office earlier today, so hopefully, that's helped alleviate any concerns for those pondering over this matter.

If you happen to call the Tax Credits helpline at 0845 300 3900, you'll find that their representatives can let you know if any correspondence from the review team has been dispatched, as well as provide you with the contact number mentioned in that correspondence. I just got off the phone with them, and I can confirm that the number is indeed authentic and belongs to the Tax Credits review team. We asked them to confirm some security information, and they did so without any hassle.

We received a rather suspicious letter, and after trying to get through to them about twenty times, we decided to contact the standard tax credits helpline instead. The advisors there informed us that it’s a scam they're already familiar with, and we should simply ignore the correspondence. They assured us that they maintain a complete log of all communications sent out, yet they have no record of this particular one. Apparently, there isn't any special "review team" handling these matters; it’s just the typical helpline staff who manage these situations.

We recently received a call from this number as well, and everything appeared perfectly legitimate at first. Now, however, we're feeling quite uneasy since we shared details about our children's nursery and other personal information. We're planning to reach out to the tax credits office tomorrow to determine whether this was indeed a scam. I doubt I'll manage to get much rest tonight! The automated reply when you dial the number back also seems entirely credible, which only adds to our concerns. I’ll update soon after we’ve made the call to tax credits.

We received a correspondence regarding tax credits that immediately raised our suspicions-it seemed rather dodgy, largely due to the poorly written nature of the letter. To err on the side of caution, we forwarded the email along with a screenshot of the suspicious link to HMRC, highlighting our concerns about a potential phishing attempt. Surprisingly, we received a prompt email back from them confirming the authenticity of the message. They assured us that our worries were noted and the matter was escalated to their Review Team. A quick five-minute phone chat with them, right after we’d received their validation, helped clarify everything. They just needed to verify a few details, and that wrapped it all up nicely-no hassle at all!

This turned out to be a tax credit matter. Initially, we suspected a scam due to the poorly written letter we received. We even forwarded the email to HMRC as a phishing attempt because of the link included. To our surprise, they got back to us via email, confirming that the correspondence was indeed legitimate, and that our concerns were escalated to the Review Team for further scrutiny. A swift five-minute chat with the Review Team right after receiving their confirmation cleared everything up. In the end, it was smooth sailing, no issues whatsoever!
