Got a call from some bloke with a thick accent who was all about some supposed faults on my BT Openreach line. Thing is, I’m not even with BT! The line's rubbish and the guy struggled to speak proper English. The numbers he rang from were 01253 355709 and 01253 355653. Total scam alert.

Right from the start, I had a feeling this was dodgy. Some bloke named John Watson phoned claiming to be from Openreach, saying our internet was about to drop out and he could sort it. I made it clear there’s no way Openreach would be calling me like that and I wasn’t interested in chatting. I told him to stop ringing me. Of course, he kept calling over and over, and each time I told him firmly to never contact me again. Looks like I was spot on - it was a scam all along. It worries me how some folks who aren’t as wary might end up giving them their private details.

Got calls from a bloke with an Asian accent saying he's from BT Openreach, telling me there's a problem with my line and he needs to test my router. He phoned a few times on the 12th of October and then again early morning on the 13th. There was also a different number, 01253355396, ringing on the 12th with similar stuff. Every time I ended the call, he’d ring straight back.

Got two calls in a row from the same number except for the last three digits being different. Both times, no one spoke, and I didn’t say a word either before hanging up. Felt a bit shady to me. I never share my home phone, plus I don’t know anyone in Blackpool anyway. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

For sure, this sounds like someone from Asia. Just had a chat with another person who got hit by the same scammer today. I've gotten a couple of calls from them myself today. Pretty dodgy stuff, I’d say.

Some bloke named John called, saying he was from BT, but sounded like he wasn’t a native English speaker and just reading off a script. He claimed their system showed my internet was slow and full of errors, so he wanted to ‘help’. He asked about the router lights and what gadgets I had connected, then told me to do a bunch of stuff with my phone and the router. I gave him fake answers and ignored the dodgy requests that might mess with my security. I wish I’d had time to string him along a bit more, but I had urgent stuff to finish, so I had to end the call after a few minutes.

Got a call early this morning, around 4am, some bloke claiming there was a problem with our BT router. First it was an Asian guy, then a woman called a few times. Last one was just dead silence. I’ve blocked the number now.

Today, I received a rather peculiar call on my home phone from someone claiming to be a technician from BT. He went on about how my internet would soon be disconnected due to some supposed illicit activities linked to it. I couldn't help but chuckle-seeing as BT isn't even my internet provider! What a load of nonsense!

Got loads of calls from this number claiming to be from BT Openreach, but their accents were thick Asian and sounded dodgy. They kept saying they needed to check our router, probably wanting to plant some sort of virus or spyware. Definitely a scam. As soon as I questioned them, they just ended the call straight away.

Absolute scammers! When I tried calling back, the number simply isn’t real. Seems like some dodgy overseas call centre is using a fake number to pop up on your phone. Don’t even bother talking to them, just block it straight away.

I had a call from someone called Alex who claimed he was from BT and mentioned an address at 81 Newgate Street, London. When I asked for the postcode, he couldn’t give it and seemed a bit dodgy about it. Then he just hung up. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

Got a call from this number the other day saying there were issues with my Sky/BT Openreach internet. I told them I’m not even a BT Openreach customer, but they just brushed it off. Didn't really buy the Sky story either since I’m familiar with their call centres. An earlier call from the same number couldn’t even name my internet provider when I asked, even though they were warning me about my internet. Proper frustrating!

Has anyone else noticed those calls from someone claiming to be from BT Openreach? They usually use a very English sounding name. When I tell them I know it’s a scam line, they still try to keep the chat going. I end up telling them off properly and finish with a cheeky “do your mum know what you’re up to?” They always end up hanging up pretty sharpish. What’s BT Openreach actually doing about these jokers?

Beware of 01253 355782 - seems like a scam. Over the past quarter of an hour, I got three calls from this number on my landline. When I finally picked up, the line went all crackly and I could hear a foreign accent talking about PPI or something. I told them to quit calling me and hung up straight away. I've blocked the number now so hopefully they won't bother me again.

I got a call earlier today from the UK number 01407730452, with a very similar story. The person said something about my internet sending out spam messages and claimed they were from BT Openreach, but they didn’t know anything about my actual account or equipment. They wanted me to check some sort of internet log file. I said no until I had more details about the supposed problem since my internet seemed fine. Then they passed me to a supervisor who just repeated the confusing message. The whole time the caller’s accent sounded Asian. I ended the call because it all felt suspicious.

I got two calls from 01253355782 around 4.15pm on 13/10/20 about a b.t account linked to me. It was a woman on the line but she spoke so fast i couldn’t keep up, even when i asked her to slow down. The whole call was confusing and didn’t add up, so i just hung up. Honestly, i'd avoid picking up if i were you.
