I recently had a rather unfortunate encounter with a firm going by the name of Together Telecom. They managed to ensnare me into what I can only describe as a dodgy contract that would hit your wallet quite hard. They purport to offer subsidised services under some government initiative, claiming their business package (at £24.99 a month) will save you a pretty penny on calls and broadband. To my dismay, I discovered they slapped me with a £99 + VAT charge (that’s £119.94 altogether) for a router, but here's the kicker: they take your money before you even glimpse the terms and conditions, which explicitly state the fee is non-refundable-yes, even if you decide to cancel the next day (which I did, and I'm still twiddling my thumbs waiting for a response). Their broadband offering is capped at a meagre 10GB and far from the 'unlimited' service it purported to be. Go over that limit, and you’re in for some unexpected charges. The telephone plan excludes mobile minutes and call diversion options, plus they impose a cap on the total usage. I pressed the point during the sign-up process, asking three separate times whether the contract covered unlimited mobile minutes and call diversion, but the representative dodged my query and merely reiterated that it was akin to what I was already receiving from Talk Talk. It seems they cleverly sidestepped my concerns, given that both mobile calls and call diversion can be added on as additional options. With constant mentions of BT Openreach and the supposed backing of government grants, it all sounded too good to be true. I thought I'd be immune to such scams, yet they are awfully crafty! I firmly believe they are a bunch of crooks and certainly not to be trusted!
