8 yearsThey called from a number a bit different than before. Didn’t pick up, but I’m pretty sure it’s a scam. Definitely needs reporting.8 yearsI received a call from this number earlier today, and it was a chap with a foreign accent claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service. I politely informed him that I wasn’t interested and ended the conversation. To my astonishment, he proceeded to ring back eight times in succession, only allowing the phone to ring a few times each time. It felt completely intrusive and verging on harassment!Telephone Preference Service8 yearsSo, I got a call from a woman saying she was from the telephone preference service, telling me that from now on I shouldn't get any more annoying calls. Since my number’s already on the list, it felt a bit weird. Then she started reading out my name and postcode, asking me to confirm - and I stupidly did, even though I had a feeling it was dodgy. Just as I was thinking that, she suddenly ended the call. I ended up looking up the number she used, compared it to the official TPS phone number on their site, and yep, it was definitely a scam.Telephone Preference ServiceTPS8 yearsGot two calls today, one was definitely a scam so I just hung up straight away. The other call, no one said a word on the other end, then later it came up as TPS when I checked. I told them about it as well.TPS8 yearsthese folks are just scammers, tricking people into paying up by faking the telephone preference service.8 yearsReceived a call today allegedly regarding the telephone preference service. I confronted a lady who had quite a strong accent and told her to quit with the dishonesty, and then she promptly hung up.8 yearsGot a call really early on Saturday morning, all quiet except for some Asian chatter and sounds like a call centre in the background. Could barely make out the muffled noises.8 yearsGot a call earlier claiming to be from the "TPS" or something like that (telephone preference service). We signed up with them ages ago, like 30 years back! My hubby picked up and they actually knew his title and last name. Then they started asking how to spell his first name and when our phone direct debit gets taken out. Seriously??? Yeah, I blocked them straight away!TPSTelephone Preference Service8 yearsI’m almost certain it was a cold call since no-one else has my home number. So today, my phone just kept buzzing non-stop. Figured they’d give up and stop calling eventually. Nope. After like a minute, I answered and said “hello.” Repeated it once more but got nothing back. After about 50 seconds, they hung up. Now I’ve blocked the number on my phone. What a total pain!8 yearsGot a phone call earlier, didn’t answer at first. Then this person started speaking, sounded like it was some sort of Indian language or something. I said “sorry?” a couple of times but she just kept going on. In the end, I told her I’d report the number to the police.8 yearsHe actually knew our name and said he was ringing from the telephone preference management services. I told him straight it sounded like a scam and that we'd be reporting his number. After that, he just cut me off!Telephone Preference Management ServicesSubmit Your Own Report (01253 120232)
