I just had a rather odd phone call from the 'Home Insulation Advisory Service' based in Reading, using the number 02037693348. The caller asked me a couple of straightforward questions, like whether I owned my home and if it had been fitted with fibreglass insulation or cladding in the past decade or so. It became pretty clear that rather than verifying their own records, he was simply fishing for information. Feeling rather uneasy about the whole thing, I informed him that I recognised he was attempting to sell me something I had no interest in. He denied it at first but, rather abruptly, ended the call.

I've just had a call from this number - identical to the one mentioned above - from a chap claiming he was with a loft insulation firm, allegedly following up on our inquiry. The initial call came through around 5pm yesterday, and I've just had another one today. Let me tell you, I didn’t hold back on the obscenities when I hung up!
