I've noticed some rather dodgy transactions popping up in my bank statements lately. I'm starting to think it might be a scam. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Just saw a missed call from 01252 520 847 on my phone, didn’t pick up though. It’s marked as SCAM, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked it. But when I called BT1572 right after to block the most recent number, their message said the call was really from 01908 103 710. Looked up that number too, and yep, it’s listed as a SCAM as well.

Got a voicemail from someone pretending to be Amazon, but it was definitely a scam.

I reckon this is quite clearly a fraud attempt related to banking. The message I received claimed, 'Your card has been used for two substantial transactions this morning from unfamiliar vendors,' and urged me to dial in to speak with some sort of representative. Let’s be honest, banks typically don’t issue recorded messages when there’s a chance that fraudulent activity has happened on your account.

Got a call from some sort of banking scam the other day, it was one of those automated voices. Honestly, so obvious and rubbish it was hard to believe anyone falls for it.

Got a call from this number both last Friday and earlier today. It was one of those robotic messages claiming to be from my bank, saying there were strange transactions - like £300 on Amazon and another £1000 somewhere else. Didn’t even bother, just hung up. Total scam, avoid!

Received a call from someone purporting to be from my bank, asking me to authorise transactions on Amazon. Clearly nothing more than a fraudulent attempt to scam me.

It appears this might be a classic banking scam. I just got a call claiming there were two significant transactions on my account linked to purchases from Amazon. They wanted me to press 1 to verify or connect with an advisor. Honestly, I wouldn't entertain it; just hang up. And whatever you do, don’t press any buttons! If you’re concerned, reach out to your bank using the contact number on the reverse of your card. These blokes are nothing but low-down scammers!

Around 11:40 this morning, I got a call saying there was suspicious activity on my credit card, something like £300 and over £1000. They told me to press certain buttons to sort it out. It felt really dodgy, so I just ended the call. No way my bank would handle things like that!

They said they were from First Direct but it’s a total scam, watch out!
