I got a ring from a woman with an Indian accent who said her name was Emily Smith! She wanted to ask me some details about my BT account and asked for my account number and name. I just told her nicely to buzz off.

I ended up telling this bloke from India that the number he called was actually a payphone!

Got a call from 01252240308 but I didn’t pick up. Anyone else think it could be a scam?

Got a call but no voicemail was left. Could be fraud or a scam. I've blocked the number already.

I had a call from this number just now. A bloke with what seemed to be an Asian accent introduced himself as Mark. He asked to have a word with my husband, but I let him know that my husband wasn't in at the moment. He replied with a quick "Oh, sorry" and hung up. We’ve been inundated with scam calls lately.

I got a call from 0252240308, some bloke claiming to be from the telephone guardian service, saying he could help stop scam calls and asked when my Barclay card was about to expire. I didn’t have the card on me and asked if I could call him back before 5pm. When I checked with my phone provider, they told me it was a scam and not to ring back. The guy said his name was Mark Taylor.

Had a woman call us asking to give her a ring back. I didn’t recognise the number at all, but reading the reviews here, sounds like it might be a scam.

Got a voicemail from a woman with a British accent warning about a BT internet security issue. It definitely seemed like a local UK call. When I called back, I ended up speaking to a guy with an Asian accent whose voice was really faint and crackly, like those calls you get from some distant call centre abroad. I could barely make out what he was saying. While this was going on, I looked the number up on Google and your site popped up saying it was a scam. So I just decided to hang up.

Got a call saying my internet was hacked or something, which I highly doubt. They also left a message pretending to be from BT voicemail. Very suspicious!

Got two calls from numbers starting with 0125, both came in just 10 minutes apart. Definitely feels like scam calls.

I'm with a company here in London and this number has rung us up thrice today, each time different folks have answered. Total rubbish, they just can't get their point across and end up hanging up. Seriously, just block this number!

Since I’ve got no mates or contacts in Aldershot, and after seeing what others mentioned, I’m happy I ignored the call. Honestly, I think the real issue lies with BT - they just sell loads of number ranges off to different firms without any proper verification. It’s all about the cash for them, sadly.

She kicked off shouting at me straight away, then wanted to know if I was the main internet user and if I could check my router lights and tell her which ones were blinking. I told her I work for a huge company in the City of London, and actually, we don’t even use a router. She kept insisting I was being daft and then asked if my name was Mrs Powell - before just hanging up on me! Lovely.

Totally a scam, don’t even think about hitting 1. If you get calls from strange numbers like this, just ignore them and put them straight on block. Best to just forget about it altogether.

Just like everyone else is saying, this is obviously a scam. Best thing is to steer clear of it altogether.

Got a recorded call telling me there’s been a huge security leak and they’re gonna cut my internet off unless I chat with one of their ‘advisors’ - total scam alert AGAIN!!

Got a voicemail supposedly from BT warning about a security issue with my internet. If I wasn’t so busy, I might’ve hung around on the call just to mess with them a bit, I've got a lot to say about how BT handles things.

Twice in just five minutes, I found the same voicemail on my answerphone. I was certain my internet was fine since my provider normally contacts me on my mobile if anything’s wrong. I decided to look up the number using this site. It’s annoying because even though I’m on the TPS, they managed to reach me. Ended up deleting both messages and didn’t bother getting back to them.

Just got a call like that myself, like half an hour back. I blocked the number straight away. I once heard from BT that most call centres are actually based in India and they route calls through a UK number to make it look legit. Do they really expect us to fall for this nonsense about some security breach? Honestly, it feels like they think we're proper mugs!

I got a call from someone who sounded Indian and when I asked, they wouldn’t tell me who they actually were. The number seemed to be from Aldershot. They called me two times in about an hour. Bit strange, really.

Got a voicemail saying our internet had some kind of security problem. They told me to press 1 to speak with someone or call back on the number they left. Felt a bit off to me though.

Got loads of calls with no one on the line, then they drop a message about some internet issue. It’s the same annoying nonsense all over again. If there’s an option, just block those numbers, it's worth it.

I didn’t pick up the call, but there was a voicemail on my answerphone saying there was some sort of security issue with my internet. It told me to press 1 to speak to someone or else call them back on a different number. They’ve rung me three times already today, and it’s getting really annoying. I’m just going to block the number now.
