Got a call from some scammers pretending to be BT, saying there’s a security problem and if I let them get into my computer they’d sort it out! The bloke had a strong Indian accent. There was loads of noise in the background so it’s definitely some big setup. Tried ringing BT to report it but couldn’t get a real person on the line. These crooks must be using tons of phone lines and some kind of switchboard to run this scam, so why can’t BT and other networks just shut them down already?

Loads of these calls come through the internet now, so traditional phone companies can't track them since they're not using regular phone lines. If you ever get a chance to chat to one, try asking if they tell their kids they’re thieves for a living, or act like you’re the cops. It’s pretty amusing how quickly they hang up!
