Just got a ring at about 11.20 this morning on the 1st of November, but when I answered, there was nothing but silence on the other end. I ended up putting the phone down.

Got a call two days in a row from someone who wasn’t speaking English properly, saying there’s something wrong with my router. Strange, really.

I've got caller ID, so if I’m free I STILL don’t pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise, or if the number’s blocked, private, or overseas like this one was. Most of the time, about 95%, they don’t even bother leaving a message. This call was no different!

23/10/2017 Like some folks here have mentioned, this bloke called saying there was a problem with my BT broadband. But when I told him my number’s on the TPS and he was basically breaking the rules, he flipped out proper nasty. He started calling me all sorts of names like "Richard Head" and even worse, stuff like "female dog". Totally uncalled for and just a waste of time.

Just like others mentioned, the guy called saying there were problems with my BT broadband, but when I told him my number's on the TPS and that he’s actually breaking the law, he got super rude. Said I was wasting his time and called me all sorts of names like "Richard Head" and "female dog". Proper nasty!

These lot just want your bank info so they can move your cash somewhere else. I went straight to the police with it, and I switched all my bank details too. I even went into my bank to let them know about the details that person with an Asian accent gave me. Seriously, don’t trust a word they say.

This morning, I got a call from some bloke claiming to be from B.T saying my computer had a virus. I just told him it was more like a suppository and told him exactly where to shove it.

Had a call from someone pretending to be BT saying there was an issue with my IP address. I wasn’t about to give them the time of day, so I just acted like I was listening and didn’t even bother checking anything on my computer. Kept them talking for a bit and then ended it. Funny thing is, I’m not even a BT customer! Watch out guys, it’s definitely a scam!

I got a call from this number earlier today but because I didn’t know who it was I just hung up straight away.

Got a call yesterday from an Asian guy named Charles. He said some folks in the States were messing with my internet. I told him I don’t even have internet, and he went off, calling me all sorts of nasty names like a motherf##### b#tch and a slut, asking why I even picked up the phone. He kept on with that rubbish a few more times before hanging up. What a lovely chap he was, eh!

Loads of background noise then they just ended the call - cant ring them back so ive blocked the number now

Got a call around half past one today from an Asian man claiming to be from BT, asking if I used their broadband. I told him I was going to report the number for fraud and then ended the call. The noise in the background was supposed to be a call centre but honestly sounded more like a busy bar somewhere in Mumbai. Felt totally dodgy to me.

Got a call from someone named Andy claiming to be from BT, but it felt like a total scam and the bloke was really rude.

Got a really unpleasant woman on the phone who called me an idiot after I told her I’m not daft enough to believe their “I’m from BT” rubbish.

Phone buzzed at 09:03 just as I was settling down after a night shift, so I checked the answerphone. There was loads of noise in the background, then a bloke with an English accent just say “hello” and hung up straight away. Proper annoying these calls, I’m on the TPS but still get loads of them.

Just got a call from this number about 5 minutes ago from someone named Peter Turner who had an Asian accent. He claimed to be from B.T. I told him I wasn’t interested and already had Virgin, as their internet speeds are way better. Then he called me a “SON OF A b#tch” and hung up on me. I tried calling the number back but it just goes straight to dead tone. Absolutely awful behaviour. I’m really angry about this!

Got calls from them thrice, claiming to be BT. Honestly, felt more like some dodgy place in Bombay. Total nonsense.

Got a silent ring, then they just said “bye” once and hung up, so I blocked the number.

This number has been calling me for three days straight now. They claim to be from BT and say there's a problem with my internet connection. I just hang up right away, not letting them get a word in to be nasty or pushy.

I had a right tricky situation with some con artists masquerading as BT, attempting to convince me to allow them remote access to my computer.

These scammers called claiming to be BT and were trying to get me to let them control my computer online.

Somebody called claiming to be from BT, but they were really rude and got angry when I didn’t want to chat with them. Proper aggressive and offensive attitude.

Without a doubt, this is a scam! They attempted to gain access to my computer by masquerading as a BT technician coming to resolve a supposed issue. Strangely enough, I was already in contact with BT regarding a genuine line problem, but it didn’t take long before this rather impolite character exposed himself. Just a word of caution - stay vigilant!

On 12 September 2017, I got a call from a man with an Indian accent claiming he was from Visa. He said two transactions over €1000 had been made on my card earlier that day and tried to get me to visit some anydesk[###] website. There was a lot of noise in the background, which seemed odd. He also mentioned they would ring back with a number for me to call and check the details. It felt off and definitely not like a genuine Visa procedure. I hung up, but they kept trying to ring me again. I reckon it’s a scam aiming to steal card details and also trick me into calling a pricey number.

Got a phone call from a woman saying her name was Shirley, and she said she was from BT. She told me that our internet might be at risk and said I needed to urgently look at my router. Then she wanted me to get on my laptop so she could "guide me through some fixes". When I said I didn’t believe there was anything wrong, she got rather pushy. After I hung up, she kept ringing my landline over and over until I firmly told her to leave me alone because I suspected it was a scam.

This number has called me twice before, and on the third call, the person said there was an issue with my BT line. I pretended to believe them for a bit, then asked for their name and which company they were from because I wanted to make a complaint. As soon as I did, they just ended the call. Definitely a scam.

Got a call this morning from BT, the lady claimed our local junction box had been hit and that meant lots of people were hacking into our stuff. She was really abrupt and just slammed the phone down when I asked her something.

Got a ring from this number today around midday. Classic "This is BT, your internet's got an issue" scam. We're on the TPS and our number’s ex-directory. Proper irritating.

This number has been ringing me for a couple of weeks now but whenever I pick up, there's no one there and then it just hangs up. Today it called again saying it was BT and that our internet wasn't safe. Told them straight away that it was a scam and to stop bothering me.

When I picked up, there was a long pause before she spoke. She claimed to be from BT and mentioned that someone was using my internet without permission. I asked her for her name, and right after that, she hung up on me. Pretty obvious scam to me.

Like a few others, someone called my job number claiming to be from BT, checking on my internet. Had an Asian accent and you could hear a busy call centre in the background. When I told him he’d got the wrong number and asked who he wanted, he just hung up.

Got a call from this number just before 10 in the morning today. Nobody answered on their end. Seemed like a real landline at first glance, but honestly, just another irritating call. Good thing I didn’t bother calling them back...

Got an automated voice just saying goodbye. Completely useless.

Got a call from an Asian guy claiming to be from BT. There was loads of noise in the background and he kept asking if I was someone else, like three times. Told him I was busy and he suddenly got really rude and hung up on me.

Somebody rang me saying they were from BT Openreach, saying there was an issue with the internet connection station. They somehow got remote control of my laptop after that.

It was just one of those automated farewell calls, nothing more.

Around 09:57 this morning I got a quiet call then a recorded voice popped up, saying "Goodbye" with a British accent. Then the line just went dead.

Got two calls from this number today, really irritating.

This number keeps ringing me at work and every time I pick up, all I hear is an automated voice just saying 'goodbye'. It’s really frustrating.

no clue who that was. all i got was one mumble of a word and then nothing, they just cut the call.

After about 10 seconds the automated message just ended with goodbye. Then I got a few more calls saying it was BT ringing and that there was some problem with my router.

Today, we received a rather alarming phone call from a chap claiming to be a BT engineer by the name of Kevin Parker. He insisted that our internet was being misused in the small hours, which raised my eyebrows. This so-called engineer, identified by the number BT 11121, had the audacity to know our surname and mentioned that he operated out of a location on Media Street, London, EC1A 7AJ. He requested I fire up my laptop and enter the word 'configure.' It felt decidedly off, so we decided to end the conversation after asking a few questions. The more he insisted he was legitimate, the more my suspicions grew. He even rang us back, but my husband was having none of it and told him to email us instead. We took a look at the address he provided, and while it was indeed near BT's offices in London, we discovered it was actually Newgate Street, not Media Street. Quite the dodgy situation, I must say!

they rang me and hung up the moment i picked up. seems like one of those scam calls using an automated system. imma just block the number. i’m with the others who’ve said the same thing, these calls should be stopped by now. switched from talk talk a while ago but still get these annoying calls, just not as often currently.

Got a silent call followed by a quick 'goodbye'. You'd think bt and the government, with all their tech know-how, would've sorted this out ages ago.

Got a call from someone with a strong Asian accent saying they were from TalkTalk, warning me that my IP address was hacked. They told me to press the Windows and R keys together. When they asked what showed up, I said it spelled out "gandu gandu." He just laughed, said "ha ha, that’s your name then," and hung up on me. Turns out "gandu" is a Hindi insult kinda like calling someone a muppet, which definitely ruffled his feathers.
