I just got a call at around 11:20 this morning (1st November). There was complete silence on the other end, so I decided to end the call.

I got a call just yesterday and then again today from someone speaking a foreign language, claiming there are issues with my router.

I've got caller ID, so if I’m free I STILL don’t pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise, or if the number’s blocked, private, or overseas like this one was. Most of the time, about 95%, they don’t even bother leaving a message. This call was no different!

Like many folks have mentioned, this caller claimed there were problems with my BT broadband. However, things took a turn for the worse when I pointed out that my number is on the TPS register, making his call illegal. He started hurling insults at me, calling me all sorts, including a "complete prat" and even worse. Talk about a waste of both our time!

Just like others mentioned, the guy called saying there were problems with my BT broadband, but when I told him my number's on the TPS and that he’s actually breaking the law, he got super rude. Said I was wasting his time and called me all sorts of names like "Richard Head" and "female dog". Proper nasty!

It appears they’re attempting to obtain your bank information with the intent of moving funds elsewhere. I've informed the authorities and have taken the precaution of altering all my banking details. I even went into my bank personally to report the account information I received from the individual of Asian descent. Please disregard anything they claim-it's all dubious.

This morning, I got a call from some bloke claiming to be from B.T saying my computer had a virus. I just told him it was more like a suppository and told him exactly where to shove it.

Absolute scam from BT! Just had a call from them claiming there was an issue with my IP address. I decided to have a bit of fun and strung them along, without even so much as opening my laptop or typing anything in. Just played it cool and kept them talking! The best part? I don't even have an account with BT! Stay sharp, everyone, and don’t get taken in by these tricks!

I received a call from this number earlier today, but since I didn’t recognise it, I hung up before picking up.

Got a call yesterday from an Asian guy named Charles. He said some folks in the States were messing with my internet. I told him I don’t even have internet, and he went off, calling me all sorts of nasty names like a motherf##### b#tch and a slut, asking why I even picked up the phone. He kept on with that rubbish a few more times before hanging up. What a lovely chap he was, eh!

Loads of background noise then they just ended the call - cant ring them back so ive blocked the number now

Rang me up around half past one this afternoon. An Asian chap claimed to be from BT, inquiring whether I was subscribed to their broadband. I responded by saying I’d be reporting his number to the fraud hotline and promptly terminated the call. The din in the background was obviously not right; it sounded more akin to a bustling pub somewhere in the heart of Mumbai than a legitimate call centre.

Got a call from someone named Andy claiming to be from BT, but it felt like a total scam and the bloke was really rude.

Got a really unpleasant woman on the phone who called me an idiot after I told her I’m not daft enough to believe their “I’m from BT” rubbish.

Phone buzzed at 09:03 just as I was settling down after a night shift, so I checked the answerphone. There was loads of noise in the background, then a bloke with an English accent just say “hello” and hung up straight away. Proper annoying these calls, I’m on the TPS but still get loads of them.

Just got a call from this number about 5 minutes ago from someone named Peter Turner who had an Asian accent. He claimed to be from B.T. I told him I wasn’t interested and already had Virgin, as their internet speeds are way better. Then he called me a “SON OF A b#tch” and hung up on me. I tried calling the number back but it just goes straight to dead tone. Absolutely awful behaviour. I’m really angry about this!

Received three calls from them, claiming to represent BT. Honestly, it felt more like a call centre from a back alley in Bombay. What a load of nonsense!

Got a silent ring, then they just said “bye” once and hung up, so I blocked the number.

I've now had three consecutive days of incessant calls from this number. They always spin the same tale, claiming to be from BT and insist there's some sort of issue with my connection. I've made it a point to hang up promptly, as there's no way I'm allowing them to get nasty or disrespectful with me.

I had a right tricky situation with some con artists masquerading as BT, attempting to convince me to allow them remote access to my computer.

I received a rather dubious call from individuals masquerading as BT, attempting to coax me into granting them remote access to my computer. Their tactics were decidedly underhanded!

An assertive and rather rude person, supposedly representing BT, responded quite poorly when I declined to engage with him.

Without a doubt, this is a scam! They attempted to gain access to my computer by masquerading as a BT technician coming to resolve a supposed issue. Strangely enough, I was already in contact with BT regarding a genuine line problem, but it didn’t take long before this rather impolite character exposed himself. Just a word of caution - stay vigilant!

On 12 September 2017, I got a call from a man with an Indian accent claiming he was from Visa. He said two transactions over €1000 had been made on my card earlier that day and tried to get me to visit some anydesk[###] website. There was a lot of noise in the background, which seemed odd. He also mentioned they would ring back with a number for me to call and check the details. It felt off and definitely not like a genuine Visa procedure. I hung up, but they kept trying to ring me again. I reckon it’s a scam aiming to steal card details and also trick me into calling a pricey number.

I had an unnerving experience earlier when I got a phone call from a woman identifying herself as Shirley, claiming to be from BT. She asserted that there was some sort of compromise with our internet connection and insisted that it was of utmost importance for me to check my router straightaway. She then wanted me to sit down at my laptop for her to guide me through several steps to fix the so-called issue. Honestly, her tone was rather confrontational when I expressed my scepticism about any problem on my end. After I hung up, she was relentless and kept ringing my landline repeatedly. Eventually, I had to firmly ask her to cease calling, as I really questioned the authenticity of her claims.

I've received a third call from this number today, claiming there was an issue with my BT line. I decided to humour the caller for a bit, but when I requested her name and the company she represented since I intended to file a complaint, she abruptly ended the call. Clearly, it’s a scam.

Received a call this morning from BT, claiming that someone had smashed into the local junction box, which apparently meant we were under a barrage of hacking attempts. I tried to ask for clarification, but the woman on the other end was quite curt and ended the call abruptly.

Got a ring from this number today around midday. Classic "This is BT, your internet's got an issue" scam. We're on the TPS and our number’s ex-directory. Proper irritating.

This number has been ringing me for a couple of weeks now but whenever I pick up, there's no one there and then it just hangs up. Today it called again saying it was BT and that our internet wasn't safe. Told them straight away that it was a scam and to stop bothering me.

When I picked up the call, there was a rather long pause before the person on the other end finally spoke up. She claimed to be from BT and informed me that my internet was supposedly being used by someone else. Naturally, I requested her name, and to my surprise, she abruptly hung up. That pretty much confirms it - definitely a scam!

Like a few others, someone called my job number claiming to be from BT, checking on my internet. Had an Asian accent and you could hear a busy call centre in the background. When I told him he’d got the wrong number and asked who he wanted, he just hung up.

Received a call today just shy of 10 in the morning. There was nobody on the other end. Just another bothersome interruption, albeit from what looks to be a legitimate landline number at first glance. Thank goodness we opted against returning the call...

Got an automated voice just saying goodbye. Completely useless.

I received a call from someone purporting to be from BT Openreach, stating there was an issue with my internet access point. They somehow convinced me to allow remote access to my laptop.

It appears to merely be an automated farewell response.

Around 09:57 this morning I got a quiet call then a recorded voice popped up, saying "Goodbye" with a British accent. Then the line just went dead.

Got two calls from this number today, really irritating.

I've had the pleasure of receiving calls from this number while at the office, and each time I pick up, I’m greeted by a robotic voice that simply utters 'goodbye.' It's absolutely infuriating!

no clue who that was. all i got was one mumble of a word and then nothing, they just cut the call.

I received an automated call that abruptly ended after just ten seconds. Following that, I got several calls from someone who insisted they were from BT and mentioned an issue with my router. Quite peculiar, isn’t it?

Today, we received a rather alarming phone call from a chap claiming to be a BT engineer by the name of Kevin Parker. He insisted that our internet was being misused in the small hours, which raised my eyebrows. This so-called engineer, identified by the number BT 11121, had the audacity to know our surname and mentioned that he operated out of a location on Media Street, London, EC1A 7AJ. He requested I fire up my laptop and enter the word 'configure.' It felt decidedly off, so we decided to end the conversation after asking a few questions. The more he insisted he was legitimate, the more my suspicions grew. He even rang us back, but my husband was having none of it and told him to email us instead. We took a look at the address he provided, and while it was indeed near BT's offices in London, we discovered it was actually Newgate Street, not Media Street. Quite the dodgy situation, I must say!

they rang me and hung up the moment i picked up. seems like one of those scam calls using an automated system. imma just block the number. i’m with the others who’ve said the same thing, these calls should be stopped by now. switched from talk talk a while ago but still get these annoying calls, just not as often currently.

Got a silent call followed by a quick 'goodbye'. You'd think bt and the government, with all their tech know-how, would've sorted this out ages ago.

Got a call from someone with a strong Asian accent saying they were from TalkTalk, warning me that my IP address was hacked. They told me to press the Windows and R keys together. When they asked what showed up, I said it spelled out "gandu gandu." He just laughed, said "ha ha, that’s your name then," and hung up on me. Turns out "gandu" is a Hindi insult kinda like calling someone a muppet, which definitely ruffled his feathers.
