Somebody phoned claiming to be from BT Openreach saying there was an issue with my phone line. I hadn’t noticed any faults nor did I report anything wrong. This guy said he needed to link my laptop to a BT server to check things out. I was a bit wary and said that sounded risky, so asked for his number to ring him back. He agreed it was a bit iffy but insisted it was the only way to find the problem.
