Got a call this morning around 11:17 from the number 01250874374, someone pretending to be from Amazon with a robotic voice saying I’d made a £500+ purchase. I hung up straight away. Normally, I always check where calls are coming from and if in doubt, let it go to voicemail. But today, they nearly tricked me because the phone number had the same area code and was almost identical to my own. It’s really worrying how these scammers - sorry, cheats - can get info that might make people like me, an elderly disabled widow, more likely to fall for it. Proper sad, that.
