A lady's voice came on the phone, telling me to stay on the line and someone would come through, then suddenly the call just dropped.

This woman sounded like she wasn’t from around here. She claimed I’d signed up for something called Save the Day, which is nonsense as I never did. When I asked her where she’d got my number, she refused to say. I told her I couldn’t keep talking if she wouldn’t be honest. This number has been ringing me non stop for more than a fortnight now. I usually don’t like to be harsh but I had to put a stop to it. Blocked the number immediately.

01927604130 Got this call from some posh American bloke on a recording saying "This is BT your internet will soon be cut off, press 1 to reactivate or 9 for info". I keep getting these messages from loads of different numbers which I keep blocking, and I’ve also reported them to British Telecom. DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS OR YOU’LL BE CHARGED LOADS. IT’S A SCAM AND THEY’RE JUST TRYING TO WIND US UP, BUT IT WON’T WORK - JUST BLOCK THE NUMBER STRAIGHT AWAY.

I put this number on block back in January after seeing what others said. They rang me again today, but I only found out coz my phone’s call blocker showed it. If they’re gonna keep trying, just block them and don’t bother unblocking.

Got a call at 5:30 on a Saturday from a woman with a foreign accent claiming I had to answer some questions. I told her I wasn’t interested in surveys, but she just carried on asking anyway, so I ended up hanging up. I reckon this kind of thing could really scare older folks. BT should do something about it, but I guess they make too much money from it to care.

This bloke was really pushy, kept telling me he had questions that would help me save some cash. He didn’t seem to accept “No” as a response and kept asking why I wouldn’t want to save money. When I asked him how exactly I was supposed to save money, he said I had to answer his questions first. So, I just ended the call.

Some woman called claiming she spoke for big UK firms and “save the day”. When I asked which companies and where she got my number from, she just wouldn’t answer. After a bit I found out it was Virgin Media and something about me signing up for save the day. Really odd coz I don’t deal with Virgin Media at all and never heard of save the day before. When I asked for her full name so I could report the call, she just hung up on me 🤨

This number is just one of several used by the French company Vital Nature to annoy their clients with as many as 10 calls daily. And thats just this single line, I've seen reports of up to 30 calls a day from firms linked to Vital Nature in Lille, France, like Gourmet Moments. Their people seem to be coached to never take no for an answer, so even with call blockers, they manage to ring back 30 times or more every single day. Absolutely crazy.

I’ve come across these kinds of numbers before. Usually, the reason no one picks up is because they’re working from a call centre and use automatic systems - once one call ends, the system dials out again but sometimes there’s no one available to answer straight away, which explains the delay or sudden hangups. If it’s about a boiler, these calls are often free. A different firm rang me once, and I told them my boiler had been replaced 6 months earlier with a free oil boiler. So, it’s entirely up to you how you wanna deal with it.

I usually ignore calls from numbers I don’t know. If it’s something urgent, they’ll leave a voicemail anyway. A mate once said some firms have phone systems that ring multiple phones at once, so if you pick up and it’s dead quiet, it’s because they’re actually talking to someone else. Plus, if you do answer, they’ll note your number as live and probably share it with other marketing companies. Honestly, it’s best to just let unknown calls go to voicemail!
