Over the last couple of weeks, this number has kept ringing me. I answered once and a guy with an Asian accent tried to do a survey, but when I said no, he just wouldn’t give up, so I ended the call. Weirdly, on my caller ID it shows as "International out of area," which is a bit strange. What's really frustrating is that every time this number calls, my broadband keeps dropping out, whether I answer or not. Usually, I can just restart the router, but once it messed things up so bad that after talking to my ISP a few times I had to change some settings. This number has been calling me at least twice a day for about three months straight. Every time, they want to know if they’re speaking to Mr Dxxxx, which I always say isn’t the case. Then they try Mrs Dxxxx - again, no. I’ve told them quite a few times to take me off their call list but the calls just won’t stop. Now, when they ask for Mr Dxxxx, I turn it round and ask if I’m speaking to him instead, and do the same with Mrs Dxxxx, repeating whatever they say until they hang up. Still, the calls keep coming! Honestly, it’s so frustrating. How hard is it to just leave me alone?!

Being seriously disabled already makes life hard, and getting bombarded with 5 or 6 calls daily from these lot just makes it worse. At first, I tried to be courteous, asking them repeatedly to take me off their list. They kept saying they would, but the calls never stopped. Now, I’ve lost all patience and give them a piece of my mind. It’s ridiculous that they're allowed to hassle folks like this all the time. Something really needs to be done to put an end to these persistent nuisance calls.

So I got a call from some market research firm asking about my habits on stuff like charity, insurance, and newspapers. The chat went on for about half an hour, and I wasn't always keen to give full answers, sometimes just saying “No exact details”. Then, out of the blue, I got another ring a bit later from the UK branch of a newspaper I said I read. They offered me a free trial for a weekly magazine, which I politely turned down, and told them I wasn’t impressed with how they got my info in the first place. My phone line is with BT, and even though this company might be abroad using BT’s landlines, I reckon BT isn’t doing enough to stop this sort of thing. I think these callers might be blasting out calls to loads of numbers, and only talking to whoever answers first, the rest just get a dead line or hang-up. BT’s a huge firm making millions, surely they can set stricter rules so their service isn’t used irresponsibly!

Got a call from this number around 2.38pm, the bloke asked for me by name and said he wasn’t trying to sell anything. When I asked what it was about, he just said to let him say his bit, so I asked again what he wanted and then he just hung up. Seems like if you try to throw them off their “script” they can’t handle it. Same number called back at 6.16pm but nobody answered.

This number keeps ringing me about 10 times every week. They always ask if a certain Mrs something lives here, and when I say no, they carry on like they have my number saved for some reason and start firing off questions. Usually, I just end the call straight away, but today I told them to remove my number because I'm fed up with these annoying calls. When the person on the other end wouldn’t tell me who they were or what company they worked for and then got quite rude, I just hung up.

Fed up with this number constantly ringing, asking for my wife who's disabled and often stuck in bed. Just got the BT 8500 and honestly, it’s a game changer. Tried the new BT handset today and saw that number pop up three times - guess it’s blocked now! Haha, what a relief. No more weird calls getting through. Picked mine up at Argos and it was totally worth it. Proper bargain, honestly recommend it!

Just got myself a BT 8500 and it’s brilliant for dodging nuisance calls. Before your phone rings, it asks the caller to say their name and hit #. Most people don’t bother, so your phone won’t even buzz. If someone does go through it, you can decide if you want to pick up, block, or send it straight to voicemail. No more having to talk to annoying telemarketers ever again!

Today my dad received a call from this number and when he picked up, there was just silence, no one speaking or leaving a message. Got a call from a woman claiming to be with a company, asking for my opinion. Her accent (seemed Indian) was quite hard to follow, and she spoke really fast. I said 'sorry' but before I could tell her I didn’t catch what she said, she just hung up. This is definitely a scam, using a number to sound like a proper call. From now on, I’ve saved the number so I’ll either pick up and hang up straight away to waste their time, or let it go to voicemail.

Today, around 11:56am (Friday 15 Jan 2015), I received a call from 01249872547. The caller asked if he could speak to someone who sounded like "Mr Harvey". Because of his unusual accent, I had to ask him to say the name again, and he did. Just as I was telling him there’s no one by that name here, he hung up on me before I could finish. I don’t get how this number is still allowed to keep ringing people with all the complaints posted about it. Shouldn't something be done to stop it? I’ve been signed up with the TPS for years now.

I had a really bad experience with someone who was so rude and totally unsympathetic. It started when I took part in what I thought was just a harmless survey. After that, I began to get constant calls from different businesses trying to sell me things. If your phone has caller ID, best to just block them straight away. The whole thing seems like a scam where they want you to stay on the phone for over two minutes, and then they sneak a £5 charge onto your phone bill! So annoying and sneaky.

This number won't stop ringing my phone and it's driving me mad. Even though we're listed as ex-directory, we keep getting these annoying calls nonstop. Last Friday, this number called me five times pretty quickly, even though I told the caller I don’t deal with unsolicited calls and asked them not to ring again. I picked up the first two calls but ignored the next three since my phone shows who’s calling and I recognised the number. Then, early Sunday morning at about 4:37, my phone went off again. Thinking it might be something urgent, I fumbled about trying to get the light on and find my glasses to see who it was. Turns out, it was that same 01249872547 number! I didn’t answer because by the time I got everything ready, they’d already hung up and the voicemail took over.
