Got a call from 01249 850640, with a recorded message saying our internet was at risk and to press 1 to fix it or 2 to cancel our plan. Obviously, it’s a scam. The fact it had our local area code is just ridiculous - they’re really going all out to trick folks around here. Makes me wonder why BT lets these scammers get phone numbers in the first place. Surely, BT should have tougher checks on who can get numbers, to stop this kind of thing happening.
