5 yearsMy mum, who’s 75 and has dementia, got a call from this number. The person on the line said they were about to charge £349 on her debit card for an Amazon account she doesn’t even have. She’s never used Amazon, let alone set up an account with them. They tried to get her card details to “verify” it, but thankfully her card wasn’t nearby. They gave her five minutes to fetch it and said they’d ring back. She called me, upset and confused, and I told her it was a scam and to ignore any further calls. Still, they phoned again on the landline while I was on the mobile with her. She told them she knew it was a con, and they quickly hung up. She’s now blocked the number.
