Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise, so figured I’d have a quick look it up.

Managed to keep more than £20,000 that would’ve gone to council tax. Much nicer having it in my wallet instead of handing it over to the tax office.

Received a call from someone who didn’t bother to say who they were but somehow knew my name. They claimed they’d sent a letter, but it had been sent to a club I visit, not my actual home address. When I wouldn’t hand over my email, they mentioned they'd ring back during the weekend. They said that either I or the person paying the bills might be due a rebate of around £18,000 from the local council. Feels very dodgy to me - almost sure it’s a scam.
