This caller has tried me two times already. Sounds pretty believable, but I called BT first and they said they don't make calls like this to anyone.

I received a call from this number, and they were asserting that my internet had been breached. I informed them that I’m not affiliated with any such service. Unfazed, they insisted that my IP had been compromised. This chap was incredibly tenacious, ringing me multiple times and pressuring me to install their dubious app on my gadgets. What an absolute nuisance!

Got a call claiming my internet was hacked. Just ignored and didn’t say a word. Best not to give them anything to work with.

When I picked up, an automated voice with an American accent told me my PC was compromised and asked me to press ‘1’ to contact BT support. Then a chap claiming to be Steven, supposedly from BT in London, called me by name and even mentioned my address. He warned that not only was my computer hacked, but my bank info might be at risk too, along with other issues. After hanging up, I looked up the number and saw it was linked to Bangor in Wales, so I reckon it was just a con.
