I have no clue who it was, no voicemail or anything left. If my mother-in-law picked up, she didn’t recall the call at all. She’s constantly getting calls from those annoying folks and has been told time and again to just ignore them and never share any details.

I got a call from someone claiming to be TPS, but their English was really bad. They tried to say I’d signed up with them using my debit card, which had supposedly expired, and asked me to update the details. I told them flat out I wouldn’t have given them my card info to begin with. Then they kept pushing, asking for my bank account number from a statement. I told them they must think I’m daft and hung up. They rang back straight away, but I just ignored it.

Got a call from 01248 205148 claiming to be the TPS wanting to upgrade my service. When I asked if their upgrade would stop scam calls like theirs, they were really pushy about how legit they were. Yeah, right! Definitely a scam. I've blocked the number now.

Some lady named Brenda rang me up, sounded like she had an Asian accent. She claimed to be from this "Guaranteed Telecom" Call Blocking Department. Told me she could help block annoying telemarketers totally free. She tried to get some details from me so I asked where their office was. She said it was based in North-West London and gave me the number 020 363 05457. I told her I'd call back later, but never did.

Some bloke called saying he was with the Telephone Preference Service, but his English was pretty poor. He knew my last name and started rambling about some blocking thing. When I told him I didn’t get it, he just said bye and hung up.

Had my second #### call today. When I asked the guy if he even had any ethics or sense of right and wrong, he just started swearing at me. Just block these numbers, honestly. Never pick up because they get a kick out of bugging you. Use an answer machine to filter who's calling. When they don't get a response, they’ll probably stop ringing you. If that’s even what you call their nonsense. Play their game and win it by not playing at all.

Got a call from a woman with a really heavy Asian accent, my missus picked up. She kept asking for me, though she almost got my name right, asking to speak to a Mr David, which isn't our last name at all. Then she claimed she was from The Telephone Preference Service. Got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to be from the telephone preference service. What really freaked me out was how he already knew my name and where I live!
