Total rubbish, just a scam trying to freak me out.8 yearsTotal scam alert - I looked up the 01247 area code and it’s not even in use. Got a robo call from some “Shirley,” who claimed, “This is your internet service provider. Your connection has been breached multiple times from various countries. We will cut your internet off in 24 hours. Press 1 to talk to our tech team.” They’re now just saying “ISP provider” instead of naming a proper company like, say, BT, probably to fool more people. Obviously, I didn’t press 1.ShirleyBT8 yearsGot a call around 11:40 on 2nd July 2018 from an automated voice saying my IP address was at risk, claiming to be from BT. I pressed 1 to speak with a tech who had an Asian accent and kept insisting he was from BT. I told him firmly he wasn’t, and before I could explain I’m not even a BT customer, he cut me off. Definitely seemed like they were trying to gain access to my computer to steal info. Very suspicious.BT8 yearsGot a call claiming my IP was hacked or something - total scam!8 yearsGot a call from some guy named Andrew claiming to be from BT tech support in London. Said my internet was about to get cut off in a couple of hours because my broadband or computer had some kind of security issue. Told him to just send something in writing and that if the internet did drop out, I'd ring up my actual provider myself. Pretty standard scam stuff really.AndrewBTLondonSubmit Your Own Report (01247 497896)
