Just received a message from the neighbourhood police in Derbyshire warning about calls from two numbers - 01246 566807 and 01246 566434. Apparently they play a recorded message pretending to be from BT, telling you your landline will be cut off unless you press a button. The alert folks say not to press anything, just put the phone down. These numbers look real since 01246 is Chesterfield’s code, but they’re fake numbers used by scammers once again!
