they tried selling me central heating and boiler cover. i said no thanks since a mate sorts all that out for me. then she started saying i’m paying way too much. when i made it clear i wasn’t up for chatting anymore, she got all rude and sarcastic. not exactly a good way to win clients, eh?

I'm rather sceptical that this is an actual company based in Chesterfield. The moment the call connected, it was evident the line was being redirected elsewhere. A very courteous woman with an accent was attempting to peddle boiler insurance. It's baffling that measures aren't being implemented to curtail these businesses from using numbers that seem to be local. Thankfully, I have BT Protect - an absolutely fantastic complimentary service from BT - so I've added the number to my personal blacklist, ensuring I won't be bothered by them again.

It's about time the authorities stepped up and started handing out some proper sentences to these lowlifes. Scammers are a blight on society and they really ought to face serious consequences for their actions.

As soon as I asked them to identify themselves, they just ended the call on me.

They introduced themselves as 'Comparison Crunch' - I had visited a different comparison site in relation to boiler cover a few weeks back, having clicked through from Money Saving Expert.
Shortly after, they passed me on to a representative from 24/7 Rescue, who was keen on persuading me to switch my current cover.
While we were chatting, I did a bit of quick digging on the MSE forum and found a fair few unhappy customers sharing their experiences.
When I mentioned that I wasn't inclined to change things up just yet, they insisted on taking my personal details for their records (like my address), which I firmly declined.
Overall, I wouldn’t advise dealing with them.

I received a call today inquiring whether I had boiler cover because it seems some firms are charging excessively in my locality. The caller also wanted to know who my current provider is and the age of my boiler. I shared this information, thinking she might present me with some alternatives since I’m currently facing some challenges with my supplier. However, after thanking me for the info, that was the end of the conversation. Quite odd if you ask me, so I've gone ahead and blocked the number.
