This chap who identified himself as Robin rang me up claiming to be from HPS services regarding our recent payment for the television maintenance. He rather presumptuously mentioned that if I had failed to set up the payment, it must have been my husband who did it instead. I assured him that neither of us had any knowledge of this. He seemed quite taken aback and expressed concern over my lack of recollection, promising to send something through the post. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what lands on our doorstep!

I received a rather peculiar call this afternoon. The person on the other end claimed that I had somehow arranged for a drain and pipes cover back in 2021, and now they were demanding payment. Honestly, I was completely baffled and told her I had no recollection of any such thing. I requested that she forward me some documentation for my records, but she kept insisting that I must already have the info from 2021. I finally said I would look into it, and she mentioned she’d ring me again later. Curious to see how this unfolds!

Earlier today, I was visiting my mother when a call came through. Fortunately, due to her age, she has Call Blocking set up on her phone. If a caller isn’t recognised, it prompts them to identify themselves before you make the choice to pick up. The caller stated her name was Jane, and naturally, I assumed it was a friend of my mother's, so I decided to answer. As it turned out, it was yet another scam attempt; she was inquiring about a payment my mum was supposedly behind on for a television. I decided to humour her, claiming my 89-year-old mother didn’t have any payment arrangements in place. “Jane” then suggested it might have been my father who had taken out the policy years ago. This back-and-forth continued for a while, until I finally snapped back with, “Firstly, I purchased my mum her television outright from Currys about five years ago, so there’s absolutely nothing owed, and secondly, it can't be my father taking out policies as he passed away 14 years ago!” At that point, she seemed quite rattled and swiftly ended the call. I've since blocked the number.

I received a call from someone named Emma at Prestige Homecare claiming that I still had an outstanding payment for TV repairs. I assured her that my television hadn't been touched by them at all, and promptly hung up on the conversation.

I received a call from a chap named Robin regarding the final payment for some electrical work he claims is due today. Apparently, there's a direct debit scheduled for today as well. He got rather irate when I repeatedly expressed my confusion over the whole situation. Eventually, he hung up on me. Quite amusing, really!

An unexpected call came through for my elderly dad while I was at home. The caller started chatting about the last payment related to a television, which I instantly recognised as false since I had bought the TV myself. I told them I was convinced it was a scam and hung up the phone.

This afternoon, my dear old mum got a call from someone named 'Marie'. According to her, Marie claimed that she would be automatically deducting £299 today for a three-year extended warranty covering various kitchen appliances. Mum rang me in a bit of a tizzy since she had a kitchen renovation done in 2021, which is exactly what Marie cited. I quickly advised Mum that it sounded like a dodgy scam and recommended she block the number outright. Marie mentioned that her 'manager' would ring back tomorrow with further details, but we both know better!

I received a rather curious call regarding my electric cover which I apparently arranged two years back. They mentioned that a charge of £380 was set to come out tomorrow but offered me a ‘special deal’ of £180 instead. I was taken aback as I never agreed to any service with them in the first place, yet the chap on the line was incredibly persistent. When I inquired about which card they planned to use for the payment, the last four digits he provided didn’t match any of my cards, which raised a red flag for me. He promised to send something in writing - though I’m a bit sceptical about whether that will actually happen. Time will tell, I suppose!

I never picked up their call and they didnt leave a voicemail either. Judging by what I found on this website, it looks like it was definitely a scam.

I received a rather dubious call today, the 15th of February. The individual on the other end mentioned something about charging me £389 for Electrics Cover as a supposed initial payment linked to an order I allegedly made two years ago. He stated that for the first two years, the service was complimentary due to no claims being filed. Then he proceeded to offer me a “special deal” for £180. I made it clear that I have no recollection of ever agreeing to anything with the company he mentioned, and when I inquired about how they intended to process this payment, he provided me with the last four digits of a card that was completely unfamiliar to me. I reiterated that this couldn’t possibly concern me. He then suggested he’d send something in writing to clarify matters - we shall see if that actually happens. Just a word of caution regarding this number!

Got a call from some so-called insurance people claiming I had a last payment to make. I just told them it’s rubbish and slammed the phone down. Wish I’d told them to find a real job instead of pulling scams like that.

Somebody with a South African accent rang me about renewing an insurance for plumbing stuff and drainage. She said my last payment was due soon and I needed to renew the policy I was meant to have had for the last three years. I honestly had no clue about any of this, so I just cut the call short and hung up.

So, this person phoned me and first made sure of my name. Then they asked about how often I get scam calls every week. After that, they tried to pitch a new call blocker to me. I told them I’ve tried those before and they never seem to work, and right away they just cut the call off. Honestly, just ignore them.

This number somehow got past my call blocker after saying something first. The caller had an Indian accent but refused to say who they were when I asked.
