We’ve got this BT call blocker thing that sends unknown numbers straight to voicemail, but they just ended up hanging up anyway.

A guy rang me about some TV insurance supposedly owing £300 plus (at 20.51). I told him it wasn’t me and just ended the call. But then he called right back at 20.53, going on about money being taken from my bank card. He even read out a bank card number and asked me to confirm it. I refused, it was wrong anyway. He then said the money would be taken anyway, speaking quite aggressively. I’ve had calls like this before. As I hung up, he kept repeating that they’d take the cash. Felt really pushy and threatening, and I reckon it could easily fool someone into handing over their info.

Somebody called me saying I had some kind of drainage insurance, sounded like a total scam to me.

I received a call from someone claiming that there was an outstanding amount for water services, threatening that if it wasn’t settled, they would slap on a £59 interest fee. Unfortunately, the line went dead during the call, but the chap didn’t take the hint. He rang back twice, raising his voice at my elderly father, which was quite distressing. When I attempted to return the call, I either got a permanent engaged signal or just sat there listening to the ringing tone with no answer. Quite the ordeal, really!
