I picked up the call, but wasn’t able to utter a word. They hung up on me pretty quickly. Likely a scam, if you ask me.

I received a call from a female who insisted that I had a final payment of £189 due for insurance on my washing machine. I told her straight that I never bother with insurance, as buying a new washer is often more economical. I flat-out refused to cough up any cash. She claimed she’d be forwarding an invoice my way. I replied, “Go on then, but don’t expect it to be settled.” At that point, she abruptly hung up on me.

I received a call from someone who inquired about my name, which I confirmed was correct. Then, she went on to claim that I was behind on my television insurance and apparently owed two years’ worth of payments. I could have sworn I’ve never had such insurance, yet she kept pushing for me to pay £199.99 to settle the account. It felt utterly dodgy, so I decided it was best to just hang up. Classic scam behaviour, if you ask me!

This number phoned me earlier, and since I wasn’t sure who it was, I jotted it down, let the phone keep ringing, then looked it up on the internet to find out if it was a dodgy call.

They keep ringing me about some dodgy insurance for TVs, like 3 or 4 calls every week. Proper stubborn lot!

Picked up the phone, but the caller hung up straight away. Seeing what others have said, I’d say this is worth being really cautious about.

Got a call from someone who said they were with Allied Appliance or something like that. They kept telling me I’d broken a maintenance contract for my TV and that I owed them cash. When I told them I never agreed to any contract, they started getting hostile and threatened legal action for about £300 for the rest of the supposed contract period. Tried explaining that insurance doesn’t work like that, but they didn’t listen at all. Honestly, one of the nastiest and most pushy scam calls I’ve ever had.

Got a bloke named Dennis ringing me, claiming he's about to take a direct debit for TV insurance. I told him I don't even have that, then just ended the call.

I got a call from someone called Roy who said my home appliance policy was about to expire and asked for payment. Thing is, I don’t have any such policy. This isn’t the first time I’ve had calls like this. When I told him I’d be reporting it, the call just cut off straight away.

Got another call from these lot, this time from 03458 500621. They’re claiming to be M & S Bank but it’s just a load of nonsense. If you want to be sure, look up the legit number on Companies House and ring that instead. When I did, they told me it definitely wasn’t them ringing me at all. These scammers have just shifted their operation from Holyhead down to Chelmsford now. Watch out, they’re up to no good!

Definitely a scam. They somehow knew I bought a new telly a couple of years back with a 5-year warranty. Then they tried to get me to pay extra to “update” the coverage. Total rubbish.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from an electrical insurance firm, saying we have some kind of contract with them. Problem is, I never signed up for anything like that. Whenever I asked them any questions or when exactly I supposedly got the policy, they couldn’t give me a straight answer. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

A guy with a foreign accent called me saying there was some kind of inspection going on for the cover on my telly. I said I ain’t got one, but he kept pushing. Then he asked what brand my TV was. I told him if he meant the insurance, he should already know the brand. The call kept getting cut off by this weird dial tone noise. I finished by telling him he must’ve got the wrong person or someone’s pretending to be me using my details.

Hung up right as I picked up.
