I received a call about settling the last payment on some insurance for a television. The issue is, I don’t even own one! How bizarre!

My mother received a multitude of calls from this number, which raised quite a few red flags. The caller inquired about her TV licence, which is peculiar since she had just received her annual bill not long ago. He recommended that she get in touch with her bank and rang back several times. When I quizzed her about whether he had asked for sensitive details, like her date of birth, she did mention that she had shared her DOB. Thankfully, she insists she didn’t divulge any banking information, though she may have mentioned that Halifax is her bank. After speaking with Halifax, they expressed that it sounded quite dodgy. I'm beginning to suspect that the caller was attempting to fish for her personal details.

My mum got a call from this number, supposedly wanting to verify her banking information. The caller claimed they could slash the cost of her television insurance from £300 down to £159 right there and then. The thing is, she doesn’t even have any TV insurance! Clearly a scam, so keep your wits about you!

A chap claiming to be Mr Reed has been persistently ringing my elderly father, attempting to sway him into believing that the maintenance service for the washing machine, fridge, or freezer was almost up, with a final payment urgently required. I'm rather relieved that my dad didn't divulge any personal details. When I attempted to ring the number back, I was met with an endless loop of hold music. I'm quite certain it's a dubious operation aiming to swindle unsuspecting individuals out of their banking information.
