Got a call from someone claiming to be Aviva, saying it was about an update to my life insurance because of COVID. They wanted to check my address, but the one they mentioned was from like 10 years ago. They then asked if I’d just give them my current address over the phone. When I told them that can’t be right since I get letters from Aviva at my real address, they just ended the call. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

This was probably the most bizarre scam call I’ve had. The guy started acting like a teenager messing about, swearing a lot, before finally saying he was calling about life insurance. When I asked if that was really the best way to go about it, he just told me “I don’t care what you think” and kept the line open. Proper strange behaviour! I ended up hanging up after that.

Just got a call claiming to be from Legal & General about my life insurance. They already had my name and started asking why I got the policy and how much I was paying each month. When I mentioned it was around £6.50, they ended the call straight away. Felt a bit odd to me.

some bloke rang me saying he was from aviva life insurance, wanted to "go over" my policy. i rang aviva afterwards and they said they dont do calls like that. he also said policies had to be checked because of covid19, which is rubbish. he gave me the number he called from so i could ring back, but it just wouldnt connect at all when i tried. got the feeling it was a scam, especially when as soon as i said i'd call back later cos i was busy, he just hung up on me. dont pick up if this number rings you, and for god’s sake dont give out your details. ive told aviva about it now.

To that, they responded with a rather rude remark, calling me a “stupid old cow.” I can't help but think this was dodgy and likely a scam.
