For years they’ve been tricking my aunt. Truly the worst kind of people.

Over a span of five months, they charged my Auntie £845 for some supposed protection she didn’t need. They even billed her for a policy covering a satellite dish and equipment she hasn’t got! Absolutely shameless.

My dad’s been getting calls from someone called Jeremy who’s really been rude and started arguing with him. He’s also been making threats, asking for cash. We’re sorting it with the police now and the BBC are looking into what’s going on.

I got sent a Protection Certificate from these lot, saying I supposedly had a 14-day Cooling-off Period for some policy. Problem is, I don't recall ever agreeing to anything with them. Actually, I’d never come across the company before this either. Plus, I don’t really need it since I’ve had my own policy sorted for more than 20 years now.

Got a call from 01245801229 sayin we owe them £79.99 for cancelling some TV insurance. Complete con, we’ve never had any TV cover with them!

Payments kept getting cut down and then this bloke Jeremy started asking for bank info! Luckily, I've got my family member’s card and details handy, so there’s no way they’d get their hands on mine.

Got a call from this number tonight telling me I had to pay £189 to cover my microwave. They mentioned their manager would call me next for some paperwork. Somehow, they already had my card details! Luckily, I was suspicious and decided to check the number, only to find out it’s a scam. I contacted my bank immediately and they blocked any transactions. The scammers even pretended to be the bank and called me, asking if I’d heard from them. It’s really awful, especially since I’m an older woman. Really hope these scammers get caught soon.

Absolutely terrible. They go after older people, really trying to scare them into handing over cash. Don’t give them a single cent.

Picked up the phone but the line went dead immediately.

They actually said my name and started with "we're calling to check if your house qualifies for..." but I just ended the call straight away. I picked up cause the number had the hospital’s area code and I thought maybe they were trying to reach me. By the way, we’re on the TPS list too.

This number rang me a couple times claiming to be about some TV insurance I supposedly got a couple years ago. The caller sounded really convincing and kept pushing, so it felt legit at first. But now I’m pretty sure it’s just a scam.

Got a call from this number earlier, they were trying to get me to pay £79 for some TV insurance. I checked out what folks said on Who Called You, and when they rang back after I said no, I just turned them down again. Now I’m just hanging about to see if they’ll bother calling once more.
3 years
Really dodgy call. They said I took out an insurance plan over 30 years ago, never used it or anything, and now I supposedly owe a last payment of £294. Then they offered me a "deal" to clear it for just £79 as some kind of goodwill offer. Total rubbish. Don't fall for this, it's a scam.

I got a call about renewing my boiler insurance, and I told them it was just lucky timing because my boiler had been turned off and needed fixing. They gave me this number and then started going on in circles about policy papers and renewal stuff. I mentioned I never got any paperwork, but they just kept repeating themselves. Really frustrating experience.

Someone called me pretending to be from an electrical insurance firm, which seemed a bit off.

So I got a call saying I had taken out a warranty on some electric gadget three years back. They told me the first two years didn’t cost anything but now I supposedly owe £368, and that they were going to charge me today. Totally caught me off guard!

They really pushed my elderly dad hard and he ended up giving out his information over the phone - honestly, it’s shameful!

Got a call today that lasted nearly half an hour, they were real pushy about getting my card info - no way I’m giving that out! They wanted me to ring them back on that same dodgy number to sort out insurance for my kitchen appliances. They claimed I’d signed up for some ‘home drainage protection’ deal a couple years back and told me I owe a last payment for the next two years or else I’d have to pay a cancellation charge. So annoying! The number they showed was 01268653954 and the bloke’s name was Jerry Kemp.

Someone called saying I had some sort of drainage cover with their company and they could give me a better deal. When I said I needed to look at my bank statement to see if I’d already paid, they tried to rush me and said I should check their website and ring them again. They asked for a Jerry Kemp. I phoned from another mobile, and they said Jerry would ring me back on the first number. Later, I looked up the number here to see who they really were.

Got a call from someone named Abbi Porter claiming she was with HDPS. She was really pushy, trying to sell me insurance for my TV and even asked for the last digits of my debit card plus a date. I rang my bank afterwards and turns out it was all a load of rubbish. Watch out for this one!

I just got a ring from someone saying they were Kate Jacobs at HDPS from 0124 580 2021, telling me my insurance is up for renewal. They seemed to have all my info, which really worried me. They offered a 50% discount if I paid straight away, but warned there’d be a fee if I cancelled. After checking this site, I’m definitely not going to pursue it. How are these lot still allowed to do this? Cheers, JF.

They were trying to make me pay some insurance balance I never even knew about, like over 300 quid originally. Then they said if I paid straight away it would drop down to 79 quid. Bit fishy if you ask me.

I received a call intended for my elderly mother, who is 82, from someone pressuring her to make a last payment for some so-called television protection plan-a service we neither possess nor would contemplate buying. When I inquired about the company’s name and contact details, they stated it was Home Services, and provided a number too.

They said they were from some drainage firm, but turns out, that company doesn’t even exist. Seems like a total scam to me.

These scammers target older folks, pushing insurance for homes or gadgets over the phone. They insist they won’t send any confirmation through email or post. Even after organising to cancel, they keep charging the card every year without permission. I had to get new bank cards just to block the payments. It’s a complete rip-off.

Today, my dad got a phone call from someone named "Hannah Cook". She told the usual tale - said he’d apparently signed up for a service plan when he bought a TV a while back, and now they want to take £300 out of his bank. We’re contacting the bank’s fraud team about this straight away.

BEWARE OF THIS SCAM!!! Today, 26.09.23, my elderly mum got a call from a woman who said her name was 'June'. She claimed mum had taken out freezer insurance back in 2021 and paid £99. Mum said she didn’t remember anything about it. When mum asked for more info, June got irritable and even said mum was shouting at her. I then grabbed the phone and asked for proof of the insurance, but June wouldn’t provide any. Suddenly, she threatened they’d send a court summons and then just hung up! This is really dodgy and could be harmful!

Received a call from 01245 801 229 claiming to be from some Home Protection Service saying my electrical warranty was about to expire. Honestly, I don’t even recall signing up for anything like that. Weirdly, they already had my card info and even mentioned a password I use. Now they keep calling to demand £189 payment. I had a quick peek at this site before answering round two, and glad I did. When will these dodgy scams just end? Seems like thousands of people have checked this number already - over 3000 times!

This morning, I received a rather cheery call from a chap claiming to be with the company that supposedly insures my television. I must admit, I was completely at a loss as to whether I'd even taken out any insurance apart from the complimentary twelve months I’d been given. The gentleman kept insisting that I qualified for a discount because I hadn’t filed any claims or reported any issues with my telly. He quoted me a renewal fee of £139, down from £278, which sounded too good to be true. When I informed him that I wasn’t keen on continuing, he said I couldn’t simply cancel as I was already halfway through the contract. The pressure was palpable; he practically coerced me into sharing my bank details, claiming the bank would ring to verify. Surprise, surprise-I never received that call. Definitely a company to steer clear of, in my view!

I just got a call about my insurance being due, and they actually had my password, card details, and even my home address. I don’t recall ever signing up for this. When I asked for proof of the agreement once I’d paid, they said they’d email me the paperwork. These calls all sound the same though - they claim I owe £350, but since I haven’t used their service, I supposedly only need to pay £139, and they promise to send cancellation documents within 4 days. I’m keeping an eye out to see if anything actually arrives.

Got a call from someone named “Sarah”, said she was with Home Protection Services. She told me my fridge/freezer insurance was due for its last payment, supposedly after three years. We do have a policy for our appliances but we paid it all at once, so this seemed off. I told her to cancel everything. Then she got a bit annoyed, saying I’d owe a cancellation fee and that it had to be dealt with immediately. I took down her number and told her I’d ring back once I’d looked at our insurance documents. Obviously, I’m not bothering to call her again.

I just got a call from a woman named Maria White claiming to be from Home & Drainage Protection Services. She told me I needed to pay £139 to keep my fridge freezer insured against breakdowns for the next two years of my supposed 5-year contract. Thing is, I don’t have any agreement with them or any company for my fridge freezer. She kept pushing hard, but I figured it was a scam trying to grab my card details. So I quickly hung up.

My dad has Alzheimers and recently got a call from this lot. They told him the caller's name was Adrian Bennett. Because of his condition, he's pretty vulnerable and often falls for stuff like this. Dad thought the bloke on the phone was quite "friendly." Just a heads up, this looks like one of those drainage scams and they don’t give up easily.

Got a call from someone named Travis Walker who ended up scamming over £200 from my mother-in-law. They’re taking advantage of older folks forgetting what they might have agreed to years back. Seriously, avoid these people at all costs!!!

I kept getting calls from the same person but they kept switching up the area codes, ringing me from three different numbers. They just wanted the three digits on the back of my card to give some discount on XYZ. Pretty annoying!

Here’s how you can report all kinds of scam stuff - texts, calls, emails - easily using the system set up by the police through the NFIB. I only found out about this after complaining to my MP about the endless scam calls I kept getting. Honestly, scammers don’t want people to know this info. If you don’t report the scams, don’t expect them to just stop. Messaging 7726, your phone company, Ofcom, or the firm the scammer pretends to be usually doesn’t help much because those reports often don’t get passed on to the police or included in official crime and fraud investigations.

They should’ve blocked this number and caught these scammers ages ago. If you scroll back through the comments here to December 13th, it’s clear why action was needed. It’s really important that every scam call gets reported to the police using the system that makes it simple to do so. Without reports, nothing’s going to change.

I'm 81 years old and honestly thought I was wise enough to spot these scams, but this woman tricked me good. I’m totally planning to report her. Shame on you, whoever you are! The number she called from is 01245 801229. Quite upsetting, to say the least.

I reckon I’ve fallen for this lot, rang up on 17th Feb to end my contract, and the bloke promised the documents would arrive within 5 to 10 days. Nothing’s turned up yet. Just called them back, told them I want those papers on my doorstep by Friday. Feels like I’ll have to report HOME DRAINAGE for fraud if this keeps up.

I received a call today from 01245801229. The chap claimed he was offering some sort of discount on my five-year plan for electrical appliances. When I probed him on which appliances were included, he vaguely mentioned "all of them." I reminded him that I'd previously expressed my desire to cancel that plan. He simply replied, "Yes, that's why I’m calling." Then, he started asking for my address, password, and email, insisting that it was necessary and that I was somehow contravening the law by not complying. Naturally, I refused to share that information. I requested the name of the company and their contact number, which he provided as 01268395356. However, upon searching it online, I discovered the company has been dissolved. I’ll be keeping an eye out for any correspondence from him.

My elderly mum got a call from someone claiming to be Travis Walker and it really scared her. He kept insisting she owed more than £400 for some drainage work and demanded she pay up straight away. Luckily, as I handle her power of attorney, I’m sure there’s no way she’s got any contracts with that firm.

Some guy claiming to be Travis Walker from HDP Services rang my mum who’s quite elderly, and it really scared her. He insisted she owed more than £400 for some drainage work and demanded she pay straight away. Since I have power of attorney for her, I’m certain she’s got no agreement with that company. The bloke was pretty aggressive and pushy. Definitely a con artist. Proper dodgy caller.

I've recently found out that my 86-year-old dad forked out £189 back in January 2022. It’s clearly a scam. He’s also been tricked into paying for fake appliance cover from Your Home Services Ltd based in Plumstead Common Road, London, as well as UK Service Plan Ltd, which has now moved to Manchester. I’m in the process of reporting everything to Action Fraud and trying to retrieve the money through his bank. These heartless individuals are taking advantage of vulnerable elderly people. If I ever come across them, I can’t guarantee I’ll keep my cool. Let’s raise awareness about these scammers on social media!

This afternoon my 89 year old mum got a call from a bloke named Eric Martin who said he was from Home Drainage. He managed to talk her into giving him the last 3 digits from her bank card. Now there's been a charge of £189.00 showing up on her card with the reference NCX* Homedrainage, and the place has contacted the bank. Just a heads up to everyone to watch out for this kind of thing!!!

Received a call regarding home contents insurance from a chap named Curtis. He insisted that I owed £191 as a final payment. Strangely, he had my password-no clue how he managed to get hold of that. I settled the bill back in October, but there's no way I'm coughing up again. You can only take me for a ride once!

This afternoon my 95 year old mum got a call from a bloke called Curtis who somehow talked her into thinking she owed them £139. She believed it was legit cause they knew loads about her, even her card details, so she ended up giving them the last three numbers off her card. Luckily I have power of attorney and when the payment tried to go through the bank blocked it and sent me a notification, so I was able to ring them up and prove it was a scam.

I received a rather suspicious phone call demanding £189 for an alleged contract I supposedly entered into back in 2020. The strange thing is, I've never seen any documentation related to this supposed contract. When I pressed June, the payment manager, for a copy, she flatly refused, claiming it wasn't their policy to provide such documents. After I shared my details in an attempt to understand the situation better, my bank got in touch to confirm whether I intended to proceed with the payment, and I firmly declined. Just a short while ago, June rang me again, insisting that they were a legitimate business and that this was not a scam. Now, she's threatening me with hefty charges and potential court action. I simply told her, “Fine, I’ll see you in court then.”

If you’ve shelled out the £189 on a credit card, get in touch with your card company and request a Section 75 claim, since you’ve paid for something that never got delivered. This falls under the Consumer Credit Act from 1974. For those who paid with a debit card, the safeguards aren’t as strong, but it’s worth asking your bank to put in a chargeback request anyway.

My elderly dad recently got a rather dubious phone call from some outfit claiming to be the Home Drainage Protection Service. They insisted he had entered into a five-year contract with them, and shockingly, they were demanding a payment of £79 to terminate this supposed agreement. Curiously, they haven't provided any paperwork to confirm this alleged contract, claiming it must have been lost in the post. I have a strong suspicion this is a scam. They rattled off card details that were certainly not accurate, and, regrettably, my father ended up parting with £79 to rid himself of them. To further complicate matters, they had some sort of password that hinted at personal info, yet my dad is adamant he never signed anything. It's clear they're fishing for sensitive data. I plan to notify the fraud department at his bank about this issue.

My 84 year old stepmum has been getting some dodgy calls from this company saying she took out an insurance policy with them. Back in August 2022, they claimed she owed money for unpaid premiums, and just today they rang saying she’d need to cough up £289 for a two year renewal, but could pay £189 if she sorted it then and there. The caller was really pushy, trying to rush her into paying. She was so worried back in August she ended up paying about £200 because they threatened legal action if she didn’t. We've since reported everything to Citizens Advice and Trading Standards.

My elderly mum recently received an unsettling call from a so-called Home Drainage Protection Service. They claimed she'd signed a five-year contract and insisted she cough up £79 to terminate it. Strangely, she hasn't laid eyes on any documents confirming this and when she queried it, they said the paperwork must have gone missing in the post. When she expressed feeling pressured, the caller nonchalantly replied she was "just fulfilling her role." I'm convinced this is a dodgy operation. They quoted some card details that were completely off, and sadly, my mother ended up paying the £79 just to escape the hassle. They even seemed to possess a password made from some personal information, which is rather concerning. My mum firmly believes she never agreed to anything, nor does she have any paperwork. It seems they might be sourcing data from other shady companies that target vulnerable elderly individuals. My mum plans to alert her bank’s fraud department, and I intend to report this to the National Trading Standards as well. Cheers, JRS.

Today, I called my mum several times, each call lasting about 15 minutes. They kept ringing back twice and kept pushing her to pay for a plan she never signed up for - something about home drainage and TV insurance. Like someone else mentioned before, they seemed to already know quite a bit about her, even her maiden name. In the end, she felt really pressured and saw no choice but to pay the £139 they asked for, so she gave them her bank card info.

Drainage and home cover scam Somebody rang me saying they were checking in about renewing my TV protection. Thing is, I’ve never signed up for any tv insurance at all. I can't recall ever having a home drainage cover, and there's no paperwork to back that up. However, I've been bombarded with countless phone calls from these folks. The most recent one mentioned a password that I haven't used in years, along with an old credit card number from my bank. This has been dragging on for months now, and it's really starting to take its toll on us. They’re insisting we pay £189 for a policy before they’ll even send any details for three years of coverage!

I bought a claims insurance policy for £139 along with a Home Drainage Protection certificate. Recently, I needed help because my kitchen's cold tap had stopped working completely. I asked if someone could come the following week, as I wasn’t home at the time. The man I spoke to said he'd pass my request onto the claims team, who would then call me to arrange a day and time. After a whole week of calling, I only get an answerphone message saying the office is open 9 to 5 and to call back. Now I can’t even get through to a single person. Really fed up and want a refund!
