I called back by mistake and some bloke with an Indian accent claimed to be from the HMRC Tax Investigations. He wanted my personal details, but when I asked for proof he was legit, he just ended the call. I've since blocked the number. Watch out, these scammers are clever and probably just switch their numbers regularly without any issues.

SCAMMERS!!! I got a call from some strangers with heavy accents threatening me with arrest over huge tax debts! When I pressed them for info, they couldn’t answer a single thing properly. Never, ever share your personal info with these people. They’re a danger to everyone and seriously should be caught and put away. Truly a nuisance to the community!

Had basically the same experience. Got this real creepy and aggressive message supposedly from an officer Sarah Wilson at HMRC saying all sorts of scary stuff if I didn’t get back to them. Something like “don’t ignore this message” and all that. Had just woke up, so I was proper stressed for a moment before I realised it was rubbish.

Got a call claiming to be HMRC asking me to speak to some woman called Sara Wilson. Sussed it wasn’t right, so I rang HMRC directly and they confirmed it was a scam. They advised me to contact the police, who then connected me to the fraud team to report everything. Proper dodgy lot!

Got a call from a woman with an American accent, sounding a lot like other reports here.
