I received a call from someone claiming to be from Vodafone, boasting about a so-called upgrade to my SIM plan for the same cost, plus some added perks. They even sent me an email detailing the terms of the contract, which appeared quite legitimate. They knew my name right off the bat! The very next day, a parcel landed on my doorstep, containing a new phone along with a Tesco Mobile SIM card. Just after I unboxed it, I got another call from them, saying it was all a mix-up and that they'd mistakenly sent me an item meant for someone else, while mine was supposed to be on the way. They insisted I return the phone and assured me mine would be delivered soon. However, today I received another call, asking me to verify a security deposit that would supposedly be refunded once I dispatched the parcel back to them. Regrettably, it turned out to be an elaborate con, and they managed to sign me up for a contract on my behalf with Tesco Mobile.
