This bloke rang me claiming to be from my gas company, saying he needed to verify the meter's serial number. While waiting on hold, I rang the number back and got a voicemail from “Digital Services Solutions”. Looks like it’s a sneaky sales call pretending to be the gas supplier. Best to just ignore it.

Went through my old emails this morning trying to clear out the junk. Came across one from Anne Sutton with the number 01245790839, dated 14th April 2023 - that’s about six months back. The name seemed familiar, so I looked it up here, even though I never got a call from them. The email said it was from Norton and mentioned charging £129.99 for a yearly subscription renewal or something like that.

I haven’t actually rung this number myself, nor has it called me, but it keeps popping up in scam emails I’ve got recently. The emails usually claim stuff like unauthorised transactions on a Santandar account or sneaky renewals charging 3129.99 for things like Norton Life Lock or a Geeks PC and Network Security Plan. I’ve had roughly ten of these dodgy messages, all sent from various GMail accounts, and they seem to be hiding behind Nord VPN.

I've been getting a bunch of emails lately, like 10 or so in the past week, all from various names but with the exact same scam about Norton security. Totally fishy, so I'd say just steer clear of it.

I haven't actually made a call to this number, nor have I received one from it, yet it's been popping up in emails dispatched by some scammers. Up to now, the emails I’ve received involve claims of... - Unauthorised transactions linked to Santander - Annual subscription renewals for £3,129.99 for services like… - Norton Life Lock offerings - Geeks PC and Network Security packages In total, I've counted roughly ten of these dodgy messages lately, all stemming from various GMail accounts that seem to be concealed by a Nord VPN.

I decided to give them a ring out of curiosity. They insisted on accessing my computer via some remote control program. The fella had an Indian accent and kept asking for my subscriber ID. I fabricated an ID and claimed he could locate my number on his screen. It's quite laughable, really. Total scam!

Received a rather dubious email from someone calling themselves Riley Kelly, sent from a suspicious Gmail account. Here's the gist of it: "Dear xxx, Thank you for your continued subscription! Just a heads up that your subscription from last year wrapped up yesterday. As you’ve opted for automatic renewal, we've gone ahead and renewed it for you. Your account will be charged (£129.99) shortly, so keep an eye on your bank statement. This charge will occur annually, with the next deduction set for April 13, 2024, unless you decide to cancel the auto debit feature or opt out within the next 24 hours. Should you require any assistance, don’t hesitate to reach us at +44 1245 79 0839 (Toll-Free)." They even threw in a subscriber ID and some other details to make it appear authentic. Beware!

This phone number belongs to scammers masquerading as part of dodgy renewal emails. Steer clear of calling it! It's a phishing tactic for a fake refund scheme. And just to be clear, this isn't the sort of refund that’s actually beneficial; it’s the kind where they trick you into signing into your online banking and can take control of your computer!

Seems like a scam to me. They don't even use my actual name, just call me “subscriber.” The whole message felt really unprofessional.

I recently received an email from an unrecognisable free Gmail account masquerading as Norton, claiming they’d taken payment for a new subscription. Since I've never engaged with them, I've opted not to respond and have treated the message with the caution it warrants, utilising my security measures. What’s particularly alarming is how well-crafted the email is - it resembles an actual Norton receipt; however, it conveniently omits any mention of the card used for payment, a clear indication they lack that information. It seems like a trap for the unsuspecting, tempting folks to ring the provided number, which could be based anywhere. In my view, anyone foolish enough to call that scam line at +44 1245 79 0839 could find themselves in serious trouble, as they’ll likely be coaxed into revealing personal details, potentially leading to drained bank accounts. Quite concerning, if you ask me!

01245 790839 - Scam Alert - received an email claiming to be from Norton about a suspicious charge of £129.99 supposedly taken from 'account funds'. This is actually the fourth email like this I've gotten, all from different senders but with the same story. The big red flag is the number being labelled as 'toll free' and warning that the payment would be taken on the 5th - but today’s the 6th! Honestly, I wish these scammers spent as much effort on honest work as they do trying to con folks like this!
