Got a call at 8:56 on bank holiday Monday. They asked if it was me, then launched into the usual "How's your morning going?" I just said, "Is this a cold call?" and they quickly replied with "Alright, have a good day" before hanging up.

Got a call from some bloke with a weird accent who said his name was Rick. He was asking for a family member who's actually been dead for years. Claimed he was calling from Benefits UK. When I asked what the call was about, he just hung up. I've since blocked the number using callprotect.

Got a call like the others here, someone saying they're from ‘U Beneit’ - gave the name Adam Harper, but that was a total lie for sure, with a definite Indian accent (I’d know, being Indian myself). I cut him off mid-chat and told him to take my number off their list, then they went quiet. These scammers are really awful, just looking to trick the old, the trusting, and those who don’t suspect a thing.

Got a call from someone with a really thick Indian accent who said his name was Trevor Martin and that he was from the UK benefits agency. Thing is, government departments in the UK never phone you like that, so it’s clearly a scam. Best thing to do is ignore or block this number straight away.

This number’s called me a couple of times now, bloke with a foreign accent on the line. When I answered, he claimed he was from the benefits office, which is daft because the proper people never ring unless they’ve set up a meeting. Every time I just tell ’em to get lost and not to bother me again. Honestly, this needs to be cracked down on, must be against the law pretending to be from a government service like that.

Got a call from someone called Tung earlier today. He first tried to confirm my name and then said something like, "Can I ask you three quick questions and then I won’t bother you again." Then he asked me what the best washing machine brand was around here?? When I asked why he needed to know, he just went, "byeeeeee - it's over now," and slammed the phone down. Don’t bother answering these sorts of calls - just time-wasting nonsense.

Got a call from someone asking for Mrs ###, which happens to be my maiden name from ages ago. When I told them it wasn’t me, they just ended the call. Sounds like just another call centre messing about.
