Got a call from someone pretending to be BT, said there was a problem with my internet and told me to press 1. After I pressed it, they just hung up. I dialled 1471 to check the number, then looked it up online and found this site.

This morning (4th November), I received a telephone call from a gentleman who had a pronounced accent reminiscent of Indian or Pakistani origins. Curiously, he didn’t represent himself as being from BT but rather as a representative of Norton Security! Is it possible this is yet another fraudulent number?

Some bloke called saying he was with Sky and asked if my internet was acting up. He tried getting me to look at error messages on my computer, which I did. Then he asked to control my PC remotely, but I asked for some kind of ID to prove he was actually from Sky, and he just hung up. Proper clever way to fool people this one.

It just won’t stop ringing-over 20 times now! An international number, too. Quite the relentless nuisance, if you ask me!

There’s this bloke with an Asian accent, I think he goes by Andrew, who keeps ringing me up. He seems to know both my name and my phone number, which is a bit dodgy if you ask me. He insists that I’ve got some IT issues, yet I’m perfectly fine on that front. I’ve told him to stop calling me, but he just won’t take a hint. I’ve also lodged a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office, but it feels like I’m talking to a brick wall!

I got a call from a number starting with 012435, which I know is Chelmsford. But when I rang back, it went straight to voicemail and then the call was dropped. My phone even flagged it as an international number which seemed odd. Sounds like it could be fake number spoofing, so I’m guessing it’s probably a scam.

Got loads of calls from some bloke with an Indian accent offering to fix my computer issues. I told him to stop but he kept ringing. Reported the number to the ICO but nothing's been done about it as far as I can tell.

I got a call from a woman claiming to be with BT Openreach. When I asked her to say that again, a bloke answered instead, also saying he was from BT Openreach. I told him to hang on while I rang BT Openreach myself, and before I could say anything else, he mumbled something and ended the call. Definitely a scam.

Got a call earlier from a guy who spoke with an accent, said his name was Peter and claimed he worked for something called 'Convenience Today'. I told him I’d never come across that company before, and he said he just wanted to ask a few questions. I wasn’t up for it and told him not to bother wasting either of our time. Then I nicely said I was hanging up - and I did.

I've had this number ringing me incessantly! Is there any way to block these calls? If not, I genuinely don't understand how this is happening; my number is meant to be ex-directory. How on earth did they manage to get hold of it? I really think BT ought to take these issues more seriously.

Someone rang me saying they were from Norton, but the moment I heard that I just hung up since I know Norton never phones you. What really gets me is not just the scammers pretending to be different firms but all using the same number, and you’d think BT or whoever owns the phone lines would step in and sort it out. It’s a total con!

Got a call earlier today from a bloke speaking with an Indian accent, said he was from BT and wanted to talk about my internet. There was really weird noise in the background and some clicking right when the call started, which I usually associate with scammers ringing UK numbers from overseas. Didn’t even bother, just ended the call straight away because it smelt like a scam.

I received a call from a gentleman with a heavy foreign accent, purporting to be from BT. He had the audacity to address me by my name and mentioned my email and even my unlisted phone number. Got a call earlier today saying there was an issue with my Norton software. I've had these sort of calls before, and also ones claiming to be from Microsoft. My phone's list of blocked numbers is completely maxed out now! These scammers are really a nuisance. I don't understand why no action is taken against them. My mother-in-law, who's 93, gets hit by these calls almost every week.

I received a phone call from someone claiming to represent an anti-virus company. When I inquired about where he was ringing from, he mentioned their main office was in Paddington. I responded that I didn't actually own a computer, and just like that, he hung up! How frustrating!

I keep getting spam calls so I changed my answerphone message to something like: “We don’t take any marketing or sales calls here. If it’s a mate or important, leave your message after the beep & if anyone’s about, we’ll get back to you.” Hopefully that’ll put an end to those annoying cold calls!

Received a rather dodgy call from an unidentified number. When I informed the caller they had dialed the wrong digit, they persisted, inquiring if I was the account holder for the landline. I mentioned that this number actually belongs to a government office, and without skipping a beat, they abruptly ended the call. Quite the nuisance, if you ask me!
