It’s got us all feeling a bit uneasy!2 yearsEarlier today, at precisely 9:59 on the 24th of January 2024, I received a call on my home landline. A quick dial back using 1471 disclosed that the number was from Chelmsford, which happens to be local to me - certainly not my bank as they claimed. During the conversation, the caller informed me that two amounts had been withdrawn from my bank account: a hefty £1,000 and another smaller figure. They were ostensibly alerting me, as such significant transactions aren’t a regular occurrence for me. I promptly contacted my bank for clarification, and thankfully, no such deductions have been made from my account thus far. I intend to follow up on this matter again tomorrow.
