Got a call from someone named Sarah, had a strong Indian accent, claiming to be from Policy Protect. I tried looking them up but couldn’t find any legit info about that company anywhere. They kept talking about a Life Insurance policy I supposedly have, but I don’t own any. When I asked simple questions that should be easy to answer, they just couldn’t provide any clear info. Got a call from someone saying they were checking up on my life insurance. I told them I don’t have any, and then they immediately started trying to pitch me a policy. They said having one is good in case I need hospital care, which was weird because they didn’t seem to know the NHS covers that anyway. Ended up just hanging up and blocking the number straight away.

Got a call from someone saying they’re with a firm called Policy Protect, apparently based near the Aquatic Centre on Booth Street East in Manchester. They mentioned working with big names like Legal and General and Royal London. The caller said they were doing an annual check-up to ensure I wasn’t paying too much for some life insurance I supposedly had. Problem is, I don’t have any life insurance at all. They asked for a James May, and when I told them I’m not James May, they quickly switched gears and started probing for my details!

At 6:06pm, my phone rang but I didn’t answer the call. It was a random number I didn’t recognise.

Got a call from someone saying they were with a firm called Policy Protect, said they’re based on Booth Street East in Manchester, near the Aquatic Centre. They mentioned working with big names like Legal and General and Royal London, and wanted to do a yearly check to make sure I wasn’t paying too much for a life insurance policy - which I actually don’t have. They asked for a James May, which I’m not, and when I told them that, they started asking for my personal info. I called back a missed call from a blocked number, but apparently they could see who was calling on their end. The lady’s accent sounded pretty much like it came from somewhere in India, so I’m almost sure this was some overseas call centre.

Some bloke called Paul claiming to be from policy protect, sounded like he wasn’t even from around here. Can’t picture a Paul speaking like that. I told him I wasn’t interested in any policy stuff and quickly ended the call. Normally, I ignore unknown numbers but since it was showing up as Chelmsford, and my sister-in-law lives there, I thought maybe it was her. Guess I’ll just block the number now.

They called and asked if I was Mrs Green, I told them no. Then they wanted to know my name, so I just made one up. Next, they started asking how old I was. I reckon it was one of those life insurance scams.

They rang my missus's mobile.

I picked up instead.

When they asked who I was, I replied, "Why don't you start by saying who you are?"

Their only comeback was a rude "Sod off".

Absolute rubbish. Steer clear.

This was clearly a scam call. It rang on my wife's phone and the person asked if I was family. I told them, "You tell me who you are first, then I'll say who I am." Right after that, the caller shouted something rude and ended the call.

I got a call about life insurance and it freaked me out how much personal stuff they already had, like my full name and where I live, even though I hadn’t told them anything before. Then they started asking me to verify my job, full name and birthday. I just hung up right then.
