The recorded voice claims there have been two attempts to use my card for transactions on Amazon: one for £1000 and another for around £350. Strangely, it doesn’t specify which household member this is meant for, nor does it mention which bank or card they are on about. They instruct you to press a certain button to authorise the payment or to connect with an advisor. I chose to hang up rather than engage with the automated prompts. When I tried calling both numbers back, the one ending with 627 was answered by an extremely unsure-sounding chap who simply said “Hullo” before abruptly terminating the call. Now, that number indicates it’s unavailable.
