I’ve received a couple of calls from this number but I simply won’t engage with any unknown numbers on my landline. It seems a bit odd for the police to be reaching out in this manner. Just the other day, I reported a theft, and the operator requested a contact number, to which I provided my mobile, as it’s the primary one I use due to my shift work. Rarely being at home makes my landline hardly ever in use. So, I can’t help but wonder why, if this number genuinely belongs to the police, they’re trying to reach me on a landline that gets little attention from me? Why not just ring my mobile-the very number I gave them when reporting the incident?

Got a dodgy message claiming to be from Screwfix about a survey and a freebie. They asked me to cover delivery charges to get the "free" gift, but turns out it was a trick. Once you pay, they start charging you a subscription fee of £47.95 every two weeks without you realy knowing. The phone number on the invoice was +44 1245 904699. Avoid it if you can!

I picked up the second call because my daughter is on the brink of having a baby, but to my surprise, there was utter silence.
