I got a call from a “Demi” claiming to be with Senway Group, saying they needed to check my solar panels on Monday because they supposedly took control of some “National Renewals Data Base”. She said since my panels are over ten years old, it’s a legal requirement to have a safety inspection and that they have a “duty of care”. But when I asked for more info about the company and the database, she just cut the call. I tried ringing back but the line was always engaged. Feels like a complete con to me.

I’ve had this number for over 15 years, yet I keep getting calls meant for her, which gets annoying. I asked the caller who he was, and then he started going on about solar panels. I cut him off and asked him to take my number off his list. Suddenly, he claimed I said ‘yes’ when he asked if I was Mrs Ringer, which I never did - I only asked who was calling. After that, he started swearing at me, telling me to basically ‘**** off’ and using some pretty rude language. He kept shouting abuse until I hung up. Such a horrible experience!

Then they tell me they can come round TOMORROW! But why even bother?

Once they figured out we worked out what was going on, they started swearing. They tried to make an appointment to come into our home, claiming we had an account with them. They said they needed to inspect solar panels, but we don't even have any.

Sounds pretty much like what others have said. They claimed to handle the "duty of care" part, which was supposedly 5% of what I paid originally, along with a safety check. Booked an electrician to come and check the inverter today, but no show. They seemed clueless about my setup and asked if I had something called an MCS Certificate. When I asked her to delete our number from their records, she said she was unable to and that we'd have to keep getting these calls. Then she just ended the call.
