EE claimed I had sent them a text, but after looking through my phone, there’s no message at all from me. It seems they somehow got hold of my number and slapped a 43p fee on my bill, which EE went ahead and charged. When I looked over my statements, I noticed five separate charges from strange numbers, including three from Indonesia, all appearing simultaneously on the same day. Thankfully, EE refunded the amount and added a block to stop any future charges like this. Still, it’s strange because I never actually texted or got calls from any of those numbers.

I spotted two 21p charges on my EE mobile bill that I didn’t recognise at all. Feels like it could be some sort of scam. When I asked EE about it, they reckoned I must’ve sent a text or something similar. I’ve now asked them to make sure these sorts of charges are blocked from happening again.
