I got a call from 1508 on the 17th of Nov, but it just went straight to my voicemail and I didn’t say anything back. Ended up blocking the number.

I got a call from a guy with a South African accent who somehow already knew my name. He said he wanted to check over my insurance policies. I told him to stop wasting my time and ended the call. Less than a minute later, he rang me again, asking why I’d hung up on him. He insisted he wasn’t trying to sell anything, just wanted to go over my insurance. I told him I wasn’t interested, that I was recording the call and planned to report him for bothering me. Then he just hung up!

I usually don’t pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise. After seeing the reviews here and what others said, I’ve decided to block this number altogether.

I’ve had loads of calls from this number but every time I pick up, there’s nothing but silence. It’s proper eerie and gives off a really threatening vibe. Feels quite sinister, honestly. I doubt anything will actually come of it though - it’s like these firms are untouchable or something.

A bloke rang me first, and couple days after it was a woman. I asked them straight up where they’d picked my number up from and told them I’d be reporting it. Sounds like these calls come from some call centre, not sure what they want exactly. My tip? Just end the call fast and don’t hang about.

Got a call about life insurance, they asked for me by name. My daughter picked up instead and asked why they were calling. When she said they didn’t have my permission (GDPR and all), the woman on the line started yelling at her, so she just hung up.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the review department, but they were pretty unclear about how they got my number. They even thanked me by name at the end. I’m thinking of checking my no preference service status because this call shouldn’t have happened. Might end up reporting the company. didn’t pick up when they rang me, but I called them back and when I got through someone used my name. they said they were calling about an insurance policy review for aviva and some other firms. i told them i’m registered with the preference service, so i shouldn’t be getting calls like this. they insisted they weren’t selling anything but kept asking me about my insurance details. i reminded them again about the preference service and suddenly there was silence on the line. felt really intrusive and annoying.

Got a call outta nowhere about life insurance, they rattled off loads of big insurance firms right at the start. Felt like a proper scam to me, just a load of dodgy b*****ds trying to pull a fast one.
