Got a call from some private investigator out of the blue, must be a cold call. Just went ahead and blocked the number straight away.

It's crazy how loads of these Welsh phone numbers are always answered by Asian call centre folks! You try blocking one, and then another pops up straight away. They even seem to know your name and where you live. Just a bunch of scammers fishing for more details, really. Honestly, when are the phone providers going to step up and sort this mess out?

When I asked him to identify himself, he immediately dropped the call. Sounded like someone from overseas.

Got a call from a guy with a foreign accent asking for (name). When I told him she wasn’t here, he asked if I was related to her. I said she was my partner, and he made me say it again. After I repeated myself, he was like, “Oh, so you’re family then?” Then when I told him she’s my wife (we’re a same-sex couple), he asked if I was having a laugh. I told him no, but he just laughed and said I must be joking. I tried to ask why he was acting like that, and he just hung up on me.

I got a call from someone who spoke with a foreign accent and asked if I was Mrs [surname]. When I tried to find out what they wanted, the line just went silent. Normally, I’d tell them to buzz off straight away. This is the third time today already! As a pensioner, it’s really annoying to keep picking up the phone only to be met with silence, especially on a Saturday. My advice is to never share any details with these sort of callers.
