Apparently, the hotels in question have just had a makeover, located in Killin and Callander. It seems like this number belongs to some sort of call centre, with operators handling calls from there. They've sent me an email detailing the hotel info, which I'll peruse before making any final decisions on whether to go for it or not.

This number has rung me a bunch the past few weeks, so I finally picked up to see what it was about. A woman called Emma from Scottish Heritage said they had a hotel stay deal for £98. When I asked how they got my number, she claimed I was classed as a frequent traveller. I pressed her on which site or database that was from, but she just said she didn’t know and kept going with her sales pitch. Weirdly, her connection then went dodgy and she said she couldn’t hear me before dropping the call. Yeah, no more calls from this one, it’s blocked now.

Got a call from Scottish Heritage about a deal - 4 nights at a Killin Hotel for £49 B&B. But theres a catch, you have to go to a sales pitch for buying a timeshare on log cabins in the Trossachs. Asked them to take me off their list but they said they can ring anyone they want and theres nothing I can do to stop them. Proper frustrating!

I asked for the details in an email, which they sent, but there was a line that made me wary: “in exchange for a morning or afternoon of your time to show you our plans.” That sounds very much like one of those timeshare sales pitches. It’s pretty disappointing they can’t just be honest and instead go down the dodgy sales route.

Scottish Heritage Breaks has a pretty basic website and the company doesn't show up on Companies House under that name. It looks like it might be a trading name for two property firms called Heritage Property Development & Management Ltd, company number 07877500. I reckon they're just trying to get folks over to Scotland so they can check out the properties they’re trying to sell. I got a bit wary when the caller asked for payment upfront, especially since it was a cold call. I ended up saying no thanks.
