Got a call from someone named John Thompson, pretending to be from the NHS, wanting my insurance info for some covid assistance I never asked for. If you hint to John that he's being pushy or harassing, he doesn’t take it well at all. He gets pretty annoyed when you don’t comply and will just hang up, only to ring you back the very next day. I find it quite satisfying to mess around and waste his time a bit.

When I enquired if he was familiar with my NHS number and my address details, he stumbled, providing an incorrect number and seemed clueless about even the first line of my address. It’s clear this is dodgy.

What a scam! I’m absolutely horrified that these numbers are ringing my elderly parents, so I’ll be reporting this to Action Fraud. Today I received a call from a supposedly pleasant lady who claimed to be from the Covid Vaccination Centre, asking whether I’ve received my vaccination certificate. Then, out of the blue, she inquired if I or anyone in my family had life insurance! When I pointed out that the NHS doesn’t require this kind of information, she seemed unfazed and continued insisting they were merely updating my medical records and needed details on any medical or life insurance we might hold. I mentioned I was going to report her call and asked for her name-she said it was Emma-along with the name of the company she purported to represent, and her phone number, which I already had thanks to caller ID. Strangely enough, that’s when she abruptly hung up!

I got a call from someone saying they were from the Government Covid centre. They wanted to know if I’d had my jab and asked me to rate the service I got. Then out of nowhere they started asking about how much life insurance I had, claiming the government would pay out to the insurance company if I caught Covid. It sounded totally fake to me, so I just ended the call.

Got a call from someone saying they were with the NHS, checking on Covid jab status. Then they switched and started talking about how the Government was supposedly adding extra life insurance coverage. That definitely raised red flags for me! About three minutes ago I got a call supposedly from House or Home Triage about some problem with cavity wall insulation. I told them it wasn’t relevant to me and he said he’d make a note of it. Lately I’ve been getting loads of dodgy or cold calls and I’ve been using this site to check numbers. Weirdly, this one was the exact same number as before, but they didn’t mention anything about NHS or Covid vaccines this time. I was just pulling up to the clinic for a vivid test when I got a call from someone claiming to be from the health board, talking about covid. I asked him a few times whether the health board had actually shared my number with him, and he kept insisting they did. But when I pressed him about which exact health board he meant, he just cut the call. Quite fishy if you ask me.

It’s evident that this chap is quite tenacious! He claims he’ll ring me daily until I respond to his inquiries. Apparently, it’s part of a verification process from HNS to confirm my vaccination status, yet he quickly shifted to probing me about life insurance.
