01617910120 I got this pop-up on my computer that said something about porn spyware and claimed someone tried to get into my bank and Facebook accounts. It also said my IP was recorded and if I didn't call them before shutting down my PC, they'd shut it down remotely and inform the authorities. The pop-up showed an IP address too, which I reckon was meant to be theirs, so I looked it up and it linked to a firm called UPCLOUD LTD.

This number has been ringing my phone three times in the past couple of days - I never picked up and no voicemail was left. They seem pretty eager to get me on the line, trying a few different versions: 01244 348887 (shows Chester, England), then +44 1244 348887 (same place), and then +1 441244348887 which appears as the US! Bit sneaky, if you ask me! Cheers for the comments here - it really helps to spot when a caller is dodgy.

Put the phone down straight away when I picked up. Then got a call the following day from a Birmingham code, 01213893465, some bloke with an Asian accent claiming to be from Nationwide. Seems like both calls are connected. Definitely a scam.

Got a call from some bloke overseas saying he was from Nationwide. Told him I wasn’t with Nationwide, never had been, but I was with Barclays (bit of a fib, but he had no way of knowing). Then he says, “Barclays work in the same building - can you give me your card details to confirm who you are?” I just ended the call and blocked him straight away. What a dodgy scammer!

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent who didn’t speak English well. She knew my name and postcode and asked if it was me. I said yes, and then she said she was calling from Nationwide, asking if I was happy with my bank card and if I was aged between 30 and 80. I don’t even have a Nationwide card! Before I could say anything else, she just hung up. The whole thing lasted maybe 10 seconds, tops, and she sounded like she was desperate to end the call. Definitely not from Nationwide, just some sort of phishing scam.

Got a call on a phone registered to me but I’ve never actually used it, it’s loaned out to someone in my family. The caller was an Asian sounding woman. Like loads of others have said, I got a call from an Asian bloke with a really thick accent pretending to work for Nationwide. It’s definitely a scam - they must have old info they managed to get hold of somehow. He mentioned my name and postcode and wanted me to verify it. While he knew my correct name, the postcode he gave was out of date, and as soon as I pointed that out, he just cut the call straight away!

Got a call earlier from a bloke with an Indian accent, number from Chester I think. He rattled off my full name right away, which was a bit creepy. I asked why he was ringing and he said it wasn’t some sales pitch. He claimed to be with Nationwide Building Society and wanted me to confirm my postcode. Lucky for me, the postcode he gave was my old one, not the current one. After that he just cut the call. When will someone actually take these scammers seriously and put a stop to their nonsense?

Proper worrying and feels pretty dodgy. Some bloke with an Asian accent rang me up using my full name and even got my postcode right. He claimed to be from Nationwide and asked if I was happy with the credit cards I’ve got. I said yes, and then he just cut the call. Thought it was one of those sales calls trying to get me to sign up for another credit card and was about to tell him off, but then he went quiet. Now I’m a bit on edge, ‘cause he clearly had some of my info, and I’m afraid they might be checking facts before trying to nick my identity.

Got a call from a woman who sounded like she might be Asian, saying she was from Nationwide BS. She wanted me to verify my name and address. I told her I wasn’t a customer of theirs, so why would they be ringing me? Then the line just went dead.
