Got a call from someone pretending to be about my credit card going over the limit - totally a scammer trying to cause trouble.

I got a call from a woman’s voice saying something about Visa and that £900 had been taken from my account. It was one of those automated messages, didn’t mention any actual names from my household. Could’ve been answered by anyone here, even my little one! I didn’t dare press any keys - sounds like a proper scam. Why on earth do the police not step in to stop calls like this? The number showed up as a BT line, somewhere near Chester.

This scam is pretty obvious. I got a recorded message saying there’s been some dodgy activity on my Visa or Mastercard - they even gave a specific amount, but oddly never said which card it was! Then it tells you to hit # for more info or something like that. It’s frustrating that we can’t catch the muppets sending out these fake calls.
