It’s come to my attention that unscrupulous individuals are exploiting my number, masking their true identities while making calls. Don’t just take my word for it; I’ve contacted BT and have taken precautionary measures to temporarily suspend outgoing calls on my line. While they are working to resolve the issue, I’ve been informed that this might only mitigate the problem by about 90%, so some shenanigans may still continue. In the meantime, I strongly advise against answering any calls from this number. This deceitful practice is known as ‘call spoofing.’ If anyone is in doubt, do feel free to contact BT directly for reassurance on this matter.
