Received a call purporting to be from Open Reach, assuring me they could enhance my broadband speed. I couldn’t help but scoff at the notion, reminding him that this ruse has been around for ages!

Complete rip off, honestly!

I've just experienced a similar phone call myself. The bloke on the other end got rather irate when I declined to enter information on my computer to obtain some supposed security number. After that, I decided to put an end to the conversation and hung up. Not long after, he rang me again-barely two minutes later! I confronted him about the fact it was a scam, and lo and behold, he ended the call on his end.

I got a rather dodgy call this morning from someone claiming to be from BT OPENREACH. It was obviously a scam related to my internet speed. I ended the conversation, but the chap rang me straight back. When I mentioned I wasn't keen on the offer, I terminated the call once more. To my surprise, he tried again and threatened to disconnect my broadband if I hung up yet again. That really riled me up, and I laid into him quite hard, after which he didn’t bother ringing again. It’s a bit unsettling how aggressive he was; I can't help but think about how someone more susceptible might have reacted. Just a heads up to everyone to stay vigilant!

A guy with an Asian accent called me, claiming to be from BT Openreach fixing my internet. I wasn't having any of it and told him straight he was just making it up and to shove off (I might have been a bit blunt). Honestly, do these scammers expect us to be polite with them?

I received a call from a chap with what I would describe as an Asian accent, claiming to represent BT Openreach. When I mentioned I only rely on 4G for my mobile connection, he insisted my provider was Virgin. I corrected him, stating that wasn’t the case. He then proceeded to suggest it was SKY. At that point, it became clear he was rather clueless. Definitely felt like a dodgy scam call to me!

Looks like BT Openreach is pulling a dodgy one again. Feels like a total scam to me. Wouldn't trust those calls if I were you.

Some bloke rang sayin he was from BT Openreach, tellin me my internet was bein hacked. I told him I ain’t got a laptop nearby and reckoned he was talkin rubbish. Then he went off on me, swearin like mad and callin me all sorts of names. They give ya a number to ring back but it’s incomplete, so you can’t get hold of them properly. Proper scammers.

Just like the rest of them-it's from BT/Openreach, as usual. I’ve just had a chat with BT, and they didn’t mention a thing was amiss; then suddenly, the phone went completely silent!

Just like others have experienced, I received a call from someone claiming to be from BT Openreach, who insisted my modem was performing poorly. He eventually managed to provide me with a lengthy 31-digit number related to my computer - not that it helped much since we have four computers in the house! He seemed rather impatient, expecting me to drop everything and sort it out immediately. When I told him I was preoccupied and would look into it later, it took me ages to get his name, which turned out to be DAVID SPERALL (he had a strong Asian accent). He even gave me a callback number [1229871076], but after a drawn-out conversation lasting over 20 minutes, he snapped at me and said I was wasting his time. Perhaps it was because I mentioned that I was stopping him from conning someone else, at which point he abruptly hung up. I've since confirmed with BT Openzone that they definitely do not reach out to customers about computers or speed issues, much like Microsoft.

Beware of these con artists! A chap claiming to be from BT, or perhaps Teamviewer 12, has been ringing me up, pushing for remote access to my device. It’s alarming! They went on about how I was owed a refund and bizarrely sought to delve into my bank account. Luckily, we managed to thwart their attempts. Then, they switched gears, insisting we needed to buy something to sort out our laptop woes. When we firmly declined, they locked us out of our laptop, leading to a painful restoration process - and we ended up losing irreplaceable photos of our granddaughter and of my partner's father, who had recently passed away after a long fight with cancer. It's nothing short of distressing!

I received a call from a chap at BT Open Reach, who proceeded to tell me that there was an issue with my phone line. I decided to let him rattle off his entire script, playing along as if I was ready to part with my cash. However, I couldn't suppress my chuckles for much longer, and before I knew it, the conversation was abruptly ended! Quite the amusing encounter, I must say!

This chap rang up claiming to be from BT Openreach, saying there were issues with our broadband. I decided to have a bit of fun and kept him on the line for seven minutes. I've had a similar dodgy call not too long ago, so I'm well aware it's a scam. I told him to give me a bell back in an hour-by then, I’ll have concocted my own little plan to turn the tables on him!
