Got a call from someone claiming to be from BT’s tech team, sounded like he was in a busy office and had an Asian accent. He was telling me my IP address had been exposed and used by someone else. I wasn’t convinced so I ended the call. Seconds later, he rang back from another number, 01246 269253. I played along to waste his time and eventually got passed onto his “supervisor”. After a bit of back and forth, I told them I’d hang up and call BT directly. When I did, BT confirmed they hadn’t contacted me at all and added both numbers to their block list.
