About a few weeks back, I got a call like this. I’ve got Amazon Prime, but since I honestly have no idea what my landline number even is and I’m certain I never gave it to them, I instantly thought it was a scam. It’s a shame that those ‘do not call’ lists don’t seem to do anything!

I got a voicemail from someone pretending to be Amazon, saying they’d charge me about £39 to renew my Prime membership, and asked me to press 1 to talk with a rep. Felt dodgy, so I just ended the call right away.
