For roughly a year now, I've been inundated with these bothersome calls ever since we switched to Speak Talk and got a new phone number. It's always the same scenario: some Asian-sounding individual asking for a Mr or Mrs Duncan, but the annoying part is they keep altering their number. Honestly, we’ve taken to having a bit of a laugh at their expense as I’m absolutely fed up with these incessant interruptions. There was a time when I thought there might be a connection to HSBC, as my bank did look into this very number in their system and found an association, but they've since cancelled it. So it’s definitely not them.

I received a rather peculiar phone call earlier today. The chap on the other end, who had quite an accent, was asking about the brands of my TV and DVD player. When I probed him a bit further, he claimed that they were conducting some sort of survey to gather information on television brands people owned. Well, I couldn't help but feel he was having a laugh, so I told him as much before he abruptly hung up. I reckon he was hoping to engage me in a lengthy chat. My advice? He became quite impolite and, frankly, rather abusive, telling me to just bugger off!
